Scared but staying positive

Updates: I have a lot of them. Bear with me.

I will add pictures of our cabin trip soon.

Jeremy is in the hospital right now. He was admitted on Tuesday September 21st – FINALLY! This all started back in July 2009 when he was diagnosed with Ulcerative Colitis. He has tried a number of medications and it has never gotten him into remission.

The past 2 months he has been miserable. He was telling his nurse, almost weekly, how bad it was but we never felt like she was really understanding where he was at. It had gotten so bad that both of us were in tears almost every evening because we just didn’t know what to do. I was sad and scared (still am) that there was something else going on and that I was going to lose my husband and Jude was going to lose his father. Jeremy was crying because he felt so bad, he was in so much pain and was feel awful that he was just wanting to lay in bed while I wanted to go out and do stuff with Jude. It was hard. Well we aren’t out of the woods yet but we feel like we have been given a life line now. Tuesday he finally got an appointment with a GI doc – after arguing with the nurse for an appointment – and once the GI doc heard his story and our fears he was admitted to the hospital.
Since Tuesday evening we have seen improvements but like I said we aren’t out of the woods yet. The reason he has been in so much pain is because of how bad his body is inflamed. A normal person has a result of 3 – he was at a 49 on Tuesday when he was admitted. Yesterday (Thursday) he was at a 13! YAY! The numbers are showing improvements. Right now he is on IV prednisone to get his body to settle down and stop the inflammation. Like I said there are improvements, we are just continuing to pray for great results and remission! He will be in the hospital until Sunday at least.

Jude and I are learning how to get things done, just the 2 of us, around the house! The hardest times are when I have to get up and go to work. Having 2 sets of hands makes that process a whole lot easier. We miss him but know he has to be in the hospital resting and getting better.

Thank you for everyone’s continued support and prayers. More updates to come later this weekend.

Jude will be 3 months on Saturday so we will post those updates too!
