6 Month Professional Pictures...

Jude is 6 months old! Yeah I know I am as surprised as you are! How is he already 6 months old? A half of a year old? Really? Wow, they (whoever “they” are) were right – it does go really fast!

He turned 6 months old on Christmas Day – lucky little boy gets his half birthday on a day with presents and yummy food every year! Great spacing for toys for him right?!?! LOL

So the official 6 month shot will come later BUT here are the professional pictures we had done on December 23rd. They turned out great as usual – Target really does take fantastic pictures!

Here are some of my favorites. Enjoy!

6 month stats will not be available until after January 3rd – his appointment got pushed back a little. Pictures will have to do for now. ;)

Updates - some good some bad.

Some updates:

Now that the holidays have past, it is time to update you on the “real” life happenings. By real life I mean the stuff that no one really wants to blog about or even talk about. But as many of you know this is my sounding board and journal so it must be talked about! Here we go!

My Aunt Jeannie, my mom’s older sister, passed away on Wednesday December 22nd. It is very bittersweet. My Aunt was very sick. I can’t really describe how sick because there wasn’t ever a real diagnosis for her. It has been a struggle for her for probably the last 5 or 6 years. The last 2 years have been bad. There were a number of times that we all thought we would be saying goodbye to her and then she would pull through and return home. Like I said, in the last 2 years her life was hard so for her to pass is somewhat of a relief for me. I know some of my family would disagree. The last 2 months have been really bad, she was in a hospital for a month after a risky surgery and then in a nursing home/rehab center for another month before she passed.

It was a hard Christmas not having her around but I took heart in thinking of her in heaven with her Mom and Dad (my grandparents) with strength and health that her body hasn’t had for years and years. Her body failed her, it sucks but she is out of pain and I am so happy that God gave her the relief that no pain medications could have given.

It is my hope that now my mom can focus on herself (may sound selfish) and enj0y her retirement. My mom worried daily about my Aunt and her health. She was running around with her at least 1 time a week taking her to the doctors and because of that my mom aged. I can see it. It was hard work. So I hope my mom can relax a little – with time of course!

On top of Aunt Jeannie dying on the 22nd, my brother also started his chemotherapy treatments. Talk about a day full of new beginnings. Yikes! Might as well just take it all in at once! He did really great with his treatment though. So far so good. He is counting down. Only 7 more treatments – plus 4 weeks of radiation! That is a great way to look at it. ;)

We did get fantastic news about his cancer though. His official diagnosis is Hodgkin’s Lymphoma Stage 2a favorable. This means early stage cancer!!!! Great news!! :O) We are hoping that his treatments will go just as great as this first one did. Thoughts and prayers for everyone please!!

As 2011 approaches I am reminded of why family is important. They keep you grounded. Through all of this Jeremy and Jude keep me sane and loved. I am lucky!

So that is the update!

~~Love your family – love your friends. Hold them tight and remember to say I love you often.~~

Zoo Lights!

Photobucket
Paula, Aynsley, Me, Jeremy and Jude.

The 3 of us went to the Zoo Lights at the Denver Zoo with some friends on December 18th. It was a lot of fun. It was cold – normal for Colorado except for the lack of snow! Hello?!?! Oh well.
This was also the first time Jude had been to the Zoo. So it was a big night for him!
I hadn’t been to the Zoo Lights in years and it was better than I remembered it, so it was fun for all ages! I am sure that next year will be even better with our 1 ½ year old Jude! ;o)

Photobucket
Daddy and Jude looking at the animals. Jude really liked the giraffes. So much fun!

Photobucket
You will not believe what we found at the Zoo Lights!!!!!!!! Yup a TURTLE!!! It was so much fun to find one. Of course we had to get a photo by it…

Photobucket
The Turtle Family. :O) So much fun.

Photobucket
Little Jude got kind of cold, I think. He cuddled up on Daddy and watched the lights and animals. He stayed awake the whole time and just kept his eyes on the happenings. It was so precious.

We can’t wait to go to the Zoo when it is light out and not so cold! Jude loved the animals we did see. Such a big boy!

Arizona Trip - November 2010

For Jude’s first Thanksgiving we traveled to Phoenix Arizona to visit Jeremy’s parents. We were so happy that we got to spend the holiday and some time with them. It was a special trip!

It was also Jude’s first plane ride – he did fantastic! We are seriously blessed with a great baby boy. We did the normal bottle at takeoff trick and then he slept until we landed. He did this on both flights! Like I said…blessed!! The whole traveling during the busiest time of the year really scared us since it was the first time we would be doing the plane thang but it wasn’t bad at all. Thankfully!! ;)

So time to share some memories and pictures.

Swimming Time – enjoying the sunshine!

Photobucket
Swimming so big! He was actually kicking his little legs.

Photobucket
Look at his hair! It is so funny! Jude really liked swimming in the outside pool – something that he hasn’t been able to do in Colorado.

Just hangin out visiting with Grandma and Grandpa Sawyer!

Photobucket
He really liked playing with this little water bottle – it made really big noises when he threw it on the ground! It was so funny when it would happen, he would just laugh!! So funny!

Photobucket
Watching football with Grandpa Sawyer – this is THE life!

Happy Birthday Grandma Sawyer!

I love your face Grandma!! Come here let me eat it!! So cute. Out to dinner for Grandma Sawyer’s birthday celebration!

Jude's First Thanksgiving!

This is late, I know that! It has been so crazy lately at home and at work so better late than never right? :O)

Jude celebrated his very first Thanksgiving in Arizona with Grandma and Grandpa Sawyer and Great-Grandma Bangert. It was a great day! Well a great week vacation. More pictures of our vacation in another post to come.

So here is our Thanksgiving! Which was also Jude’s 5 month milestone! What a busy little man.

Photobucket
Come on people…time for my sweet potatoes! I am ready to eat!

A little playdate - or date...whatever

In November we decided to join Jude’s girlfriend, Caroline, and her family and go to the Children’s Museum. It was a free night at the Museum so we didn’t have to pay a dime! Score!

They have this cute little infant area with all kinds of things for the babies to lay on, sit on and look at. I really want to go again during a free night now that he is sitting up better. I think he would have a lot of fun again.

His little girlfriend and him are really getting to know each other. Look closely at these pictures and you will see that my son is quite the lady’s man!

Photobucket
Jude and Caroline on the Lilly Pad together. Too cute!

It was a lot of fun and I can’t wait for more play-dates (dates) with Caroline and Jude.

Photobucket

Of course we found Turtles!
