I'm So Big!

Jude out to breakfast for Mommy's birthday. Sitting big and eating big in a high chair! We are so proud of our little man. And yes, Troublemaker is a really good name for this little Turtle! Don't you love that smile?!?
Look at him go! Drinking from a sippy cup! I don't think he got that much in his mouth but he is learning. We practice this every night, well at least we try. So big!! Growing up WAY TO FAST!

Don’t forget to play!

How far would you push your child?

Now I would never force my child or children (if we are lucky enough to have more babies) into anything they don’t want to be a part of BUT when I look at this picture I can’t help but think – Arranged Marriage! HAHA! Don’t hate, check the picture out. You have to agree with me. They are freakin adorable together and would make the cutest little couple!

Caroline Rose and Jude Robert (6 months old)

So you can better believe that there will be at least some arranged playdates early on and then when these little ones are older maybe some arranged family BBQ’s. Like I said, I would never push Jude to do anything but that doesn’t mean I can’t suggest a certain little girl for him…right?

Oh and yes, I adore her parents and they have agreed to this “arrangement”! LOL

Caroline and Jude at the Children’s Museum (4 months old)

Caroline and Jude meet for the very first time! – Jude is 12 days old Caroline 2 days old!

See it is meant to be! From the beginning they loved each other!

Stylish Blogger Award!

My very first blog award! I am so excited and honored that a lovely friend Shannon nominated my blog! You can find Shannon at Sweet Stella's or The Family Szem
Please visit Sweet Stellas – I did a previous blog entry on Shannon’s creative gifts, you will love them! Thanks Shan! Love ya darling!

The rules?

1) link back and thank the fabulous person who bestowed said amazing award on you
2) share 7 things about yourself
3) award 15 other deserving and great bloggers
4) contact said bloggers to let them know of their award!

7 things about myself? I feel like I suck at doing these things so forgive me! Lol

1) I am adopted. All of my close friends and family know about this of course but not all of my blogger friends do. So there it is. I never remember not knowing I was adopted. My parents told me from the very beginning. I have never felt the need or want to search for my bio mother or family. I consider my adoptive mother MY ONLY MOM. She is the one that loved me and took care of my every need. My little brother is also adopted. So I am a big advocate of adoption. Possibly an option in the future for Jeremy and I.

2) Purple is my favorite color. "Pour Some Sugar on Me" is my favorite song! LOVE IT!

3) I have 2 favorite shows that I can’t miss. Dexter and Grey’s!!!!!!

4) I am terrified of heights. TERRIFIED. Like palms watering afraid!

5) Jeremy and I met in college the very first week of my freshman year (Sept 2001). We started dating the last week of the school year (May 2002). We were engaged in August of 2002. We were married on August 9th 2003! Yup it took forever for us to take the plunge into dating but the rest of our story went super-fast!!!!! HAHA

6) I went to and graduated from the same high school as my dad, aunt and brother. We keep it in the family!

7) I adore being a mommy. I miss being pregnant. I want it again but then I look at Jude and want some more “Just Jude” time. Things will have to wait.

Now to the nominations! Check out these bloggers! I love them all!

1) Lauren at ever changing
2) Nikki at Kinworthy Madness
3) Jenn at Woah Momma
4) Jill at The Real Life of a Redhead
5) Emily at The Juice is Worth the Squeeze
6) Amber at Born in a Barn

NEW Goals for the NEW year!

Everyone sets “New Year Resolutions” it is in our human nature. It is the beginning of a new year so why wouldn’t it be a good starting point? Well it is most of the time except for the ultimate mind game – weight loss and working out. So I am not even going there. I know what I need to do in order to lose weight and feel better about myself. I am totally educated in that area so when my mind and body are ready to make that leap again, I will and until then here are my GOALS for 2011!

~Read more books and keep track of the books I read. My goal is to read at least 12 books this year (non-baby books) and every time I finish one I will do a book report (I know very elementary) on said book. I always forget what books I read throughout the year and this will help me remember what I have read and the details about the books. Just an FYI – I LOVE girly chic lit so it won’t be anything real educational for y’all! That was your warning!

~Make more time for my husband. I want to make sure Jeremy and I stay a couple – I know that sounds bad but what I mean is, after having Jude we became a family of 3, I want to make sure we take time as a couple, 2!

~Take walks with my turtle every evening, weather permitting. Well that will have to wait until winter is over but when it is! We will be walking!! Stroller time is good for us all.

~Keeping up on the scrapbook for Jude. I am so behind on the family scrapbook but I want to make sure that the 1st year of Jude is kept up in his Jude scrapbook. That is my goal – 1 year of just Jude, then all of his milestones will become a part of our family scrapbook. Keeping up with 2 scrapbooks is hard! We will see how it goes! Right now I am over a year behind on the family one and 3 months behind on Jude’s! I have some work to do!!

~Not holding everything in when I am stressed, Jeremy and I found out what that does, it isn’t healthy! Who knew? LOL Panic attacks are not fun. That will not happen again. My mental health needs to come first in order to make sure Jude is happy and healthy. I am not stupid I know that! :O)

So those are my goals. Most of them are very easy don’t you think? Honestly the hardest one will be the reading one. Once I settled down at night and get ready for bed and get a book out I usually am asleep 10 minutes later! Lol Oy!

Give Sweet Stella's some lovin...

As I was sitting here thinking of all the things, subjects, events, pictures and adventures I could post about it hit me – social networking needs to be something I use to benefit my friends and family. So here we go.

I know I have posted about my “friends” that I met on website – now they are more than just “friends” even though we really haven’t met or hugged or had coffee together I feel like some of these ladies are closer to my heart that some of my “in real life” friends. These ladies and I went through pregnancy together and we are now going through learning how to be good little mommies together too. It is so nice to have these friends in my life – the support is amazing.

In order to show the love I am going to try to help some of these lovelies out by promoting their creative endeavors so keep your eyes open for reviews and interviews from these mommies that are using their creative genes to help them be stay at home moms!

Here is my very first shout out!

The first “store” we will be visiting is called Sweet Stella’s.
This “store” is owned by one of my close ladies from thebump, Shan. She has a beautiful son that is just a couple days older than Jude and her goal is to stay at home with that little monster of hers and with the help of her creative being, I have faith that she will be able to do so.

Jude is lucky enough to have his very own Stella creation! A personal Piggy!!

I interviewed Shan about her new occupation and here is what she had to say!

Why did I start Sweet Stella's? Well. I’m being faced with what to do once maternity-leave is over. My goal is to not return to the office, and to stay at home with Owen...but to be me at the same time. For me, that means being crafty and artsy, and dreaming up special trinkets for kiddos, weddings and parties. I've always loved event planning and am a painter at this was a really good fit for me to tap into my creative roots, and try to make some money while doing it.

I also want to support other MOMpreneur's, which is why I started the
Sweet Stella's blog. Every Monday, I feature a different MOMpreneur, give them a shout out and some product placement and hopefully spread the word to people that might not otherwise know about them. Networking is so important and social media is a great tool for getting the word out...especially when you're a mom and carry your Blackberry everywhere you and your kiddo go!

Sweet Stella’s has a ton of great gifts, decorations and items to hold memories for a lifetime.
You MUST check out the Sweet Stella’s online store and blog.

Do me a favor and become a loyal follower of miss Shan. I promise, she will keep you entertained!

She really is a talented painter and I know that she has a ton of ideas, so check back frequently and see what her next creation is!

Here is the information on Sweet Stella’s current Promo:
Valentine Pouches (set of 20) on SALE until February 5th for $19.95 - 20% off regular price!

A picture of these cute little favor pouches! Great for the holiday!

She’ll be running a giveaway just after Valentine's day for a Personalized Board Book for followers of the blog. Not sure of the exact date of that yet, but it will be happening – so follow!

My Birthday Wish...

timi & leslie 2-in-1 Backpack Diaper Bag

I know, I am so exciting and adventurous! After many times of the diaper bag slipping off my arm or just hurting my neck because it gets so damn heavy I have decided that I need the option of a backpack bag too. I have always resisted the backpack usage as a diaper bag because I thought it made it look like you were camping or in school all the time – which is why this 2-in-1 looks perfect!!!

I think the color (see below) is cute but not too cutesy for Jeremy to hold too! We will see what he thinks! I mean right now he holds a Winnie the Pooh diaper bag, this is much better!! LOL!

Here are the specs on this –
Tuck away the cross body strap and wear the bag as a backpack, or zip up your backpack straps and wear the bag as a messenger bag. It also hangs on the back of your stroller! This lightweight, durable bag is made from water resistant poly-canvas accented with silver hardware. With 15 pockets and lots of features, you'll always be organized: Custom timi & leslie non slip stroller straps, Detachable, adjustable cross body strap with non-slip, comfy shoulder pad, Tuck away ergonomic backpack straps with non-slip comfy padding will keep you back feeling great, Water resistant lining, One exterior back zipper pocket to tuck away your backpack straps or should strap, One front exterior zipper pocket, One front exterior flap pocket with three interior mesh pockets, two exterior side pockets, two interior insulated bottle pockets to keep bottles warm or cool, Changing pad, PVC free.

15 pockets!!!!!!!! WOW! Don’t worry we will fill them all!

So that is my birthday wish – don’t worry, Jeremy has the link and everything! :O) Surprise!! Oh the life of a mommy. The things we get excited for are so little now.

Don’t you love it?

A half a year old!

6 Month Update –

Yes I know it is late but it has been busy so lay off!! ;O) Just kidding!

Jude turned 6 Months on Christmas Day – this picture was taken on 12/26/2010 – 1 day late.

Jude went in for his 6 month appointment on January 3rd. The appointment went great – I really do like his pediatrician! Such a great guy. I look forward to working with him for years to come. Jude got his 6 month shots, and he did as well as could be expected. He got 4 shots this time because we opted for him to get the flu shot. We felt like it was a necessity and his doctor highly recommended it – he made it pretty clear that most of the deaths that happen because of the flu are those of babies and young children. Well I do not want to risk that, Jude means way too much to me!!! So the poor little man got an extra one that day and we have to go in for a booster flu shot in February. Ouch!

Alright here are the things you really want to know – THE STATS! HA!!

Jude’s 6 Month Stats

Height ~ 28 inches (90%)
Weight ~ 19 pounds 15 ounces (84%)
Head Circ ~ 18 inches (90%)

So the doctor says he is very healthy and growing big and strong – very strong, the doctor commented many times about how strong he is. Yeah we know! Haha! He is obviously going to be a tall and big boy. Duh! We could have told you that 6 months ago.

Milestones –

After the appointment we started Jude on 3 meals a day. So his feeding schedule is this:
(6am) – 5 ounces of formula
(8:30) – half of a jar of a veggie and half of a jar of a fruit
(10:00) – 6 ounces of formula
(12:00) – half of a jar of a veggie and half of a jar of a fruit and 6 ounces of formula
(3:00) – 6 ounces of formula
(6:00) – 2 Table Spoons of cereal, half a jar of meat, and half of a jar of fruit or veggie
(7:30) – 5 ounces of formula
(9:30) – 8 ounces of formula
Wow! That is a lot! LOL – the doc said we are right on track so that is good. :O)

Sitting up is just the normal now. Jude loves to sit on his blanket and play with his toys.

He is getting really good at rolling over to things he wants, like Daddy’s yucky dirty shoes! And he is fast! Yikes, just preparing us for the crawling that I am sure is just around the corner.

Laughing, all the freaking time! Especially when you play peek-a-boo with him. Oh and also when he toots or poops – classic boy traits I suppose. So funny!

We play “I love your face!” all the time. Jude loves to suck on your cheeks so when he does this we just squeal – “I love your face too Jude!!!” He giggles and loves it!

Well I think that is it for now. I leave you with another 6 month picture. Love this one!!

How has it already been a half of a year? Amazing!
