Y3w - Our Arizona Visit

Well lets start from the beginning...
(warning - picture OVERLOAD!!!)

The plan was to have a long weekend in Arizona with Jeremy's parents - time to relax and have them get some Jude time in. Well we were pleasantly surprised by Jeremy's sister, brother-in-law and niece being in Arizona too! This was all planned and we were the only ones that were in the dark - SURPRISE!!!

Heidi really wanted to see Jude before he was 1 year old so the decided to make the trip from Holland to the States just for us.

Jude with his cousin Elora - they met for the first time on this trip and they had a great time. It was so fun to see them play with each other. :) Jude wanted to follow Elora around all the time.

Elora even helped Jude drink his water. Little momma! lol

Grandma with the kids - still in PJs. Great way to start the day. Grandma was in heaven!!

One day during our visit we went to this great park and had a fun time. Especially on the swings!

Photobucket Photobucket
Jude loves swinging! He did this for almost an hour!!

PRICELESS! Grandma, Elora and Jude - cuddle time.

Cousins!! So adorable!!

Well - I have more pictures but I will leave those for another post. :O) We had a great time with the ENTIRE family in Arizona.

I do believe that this hat will be on Jude for his upcoming Turtle birthday party!

Thank you for Gymboree for creating a hat just for our Jude!

It is that time, time to start thinking about heading out on vacation.

And with that leads to a HUGE suitcase for a 21 pound little boy.

Thankfully, I have wonderful in-laws that buy our diapers, wipes, formula, and baby food for Jude while we are visiting so we do not have to pack it all with us! THANK YOU SO MUCH!!

6 pairs of shorts
6 shirts
1 pair of jeans
1 long sleeved shirt
swim suit
3 pairs of PJs
2 pairs of sandals
2 towels
6 burp cloths
1 jacket

A couple of books
favorite B. Toys bugs
Sophie the Giraffe
A special new toy that he hasn’t seen before so it will keep him occupied!! (not sure what that will be yet)

Now – I just hope that this sweet little 10 month old decides to sleep on the plane!

Take it off Mondays - Week 9

Week 9. Really, 9 weeks. Crazy.

Well honestly I feel like I am slipping all the time. :o(

Friday marked my 9th week on Medifast, I am maintaining and not losing anymore. BUT I am not stupid, I know why – CHEATS! They add up! Right now I am at peace with it. I am quitting – I PROMISE! BUT right now I am not going to freak out about the numbers that aren’t moving on the scale. Instead I am going to leave for a short vacation to visit the in-laws and eat “real food” but in moderation. My goal is to come back home with no gain! And then that Tuesday that we are home begins my second go on Medifast.

I know this isn’t ideal but this is what I need to do for myself right now. My goals are the same. And damn it I will reach them.

As always thank you for your continued support! I will be back and you will see that number creep down!

For week 9 I lost only 1/2 of a pound. BOO!!!

Y3W - 1st Mother's Day

My first Mother’s Day (weekend) was full of fun and love.

Jeremy and I decided that on Mother’s Day and Father’s Day weekends we would make the Saturday before “the” day a traditional family only day.

So I decided that for my celebration we would go to brunch and then spend the afternoon in the lovely summer weather at the Denver Zoo.

Saturday we got a pretty early start due to Jude not liking to sleep past 6:30!!! Thanks Turtle. So off to brunch we went, really it was more like breakfast because it was early. Whatever.
I decided on The Cracker Barrel. I love that place.

We had a little bit of a wait before we got a table so we enjoyed some time on the traditional Rocking Chairs. Jude had fun!! So much fun that someday we might have to invest in a Rocking Chair for our backyard. ;o)

This was the smile we had all morning. I love him so much!

Mommy and Jude on the Rockers. Happy Mother’s Day to me!!

So after we ate, we headed down to Denver to the Zoo. The weather was perfect. Shorts weather in May! Crazy right?!?! The animals were not very active because of the HOT weather but it was still a great day to walk around and get some sun and exercise.

We decided that it would be a perfect day to ride the Zoo Train for the very first time together.

Mommy and Jude waiting for the train!

Daddy and Jude were ready for the train to arrive!! Hurry up!!

Finally…on the train!! Doesn’t he look adorable in this picture?!?!

Okay, this face is TROUBLE!! He melts my heart!! I am one very proud Mommy!

Jude loved his afternoon at the Zoo and so did I! The best Mother’s Day present I could have asked for – time with my wonderful husband and my adorable little turtle.

Here is a picture of Jude and I on Sunday, Actual Mother’s Day!
As you can see, we are both a little tired and got some sun at the zoo the day before.
Thank you for being the best Son a Mom could ask for Jude! I love you!!

Thankful Thursday: My Grandfather

Today would have marked my Grandfather's 89th birthday.
Today I am thankful that I had 25 years with my Grandfather.
Today I am thankful that he was a loving man to our whole family.
Today I am thankful that I see my Grandfather in my father.
Today I am thankful that I was able to hug him before he left us.
Today I am thankful that I have wonderful stories to tell Jude about my Grandfather.
Today I am thankful for the middle finger - yes even during Christmas dinner.

Today I will tell Jude about his Great Grandfather.
Today I will talk to my Grandfather.
Today my Grandfather is smiling down on us.
Today Grandfather is giving us all a hug.
Today I will cry.
Today I will miss him.
Today I will take care of his rose bush we planted in the backyard in his memory.
Today I will smile about him.
Today I will flip my brother off, just to make him laugh.

We love you Grandpa. You mean everything to me. I wish you were here to see Jude but I know you are watch down on him and smiling.

A night out for Mommy

My Saturday night with some good friends, paint and wine.

Everyone must find a place like this in their area. This one is called Whimsy Paint and Sip Art Studio and it is in Erie Colorado. My girlfriends Kate and Kari went with me to this fun Art Studio.

So there is wine (and other drinks) your canvas and paint and fun!

Check out our work!! So proud of us!!

Painting our poppies!

Yum wine!! :O)

Taking a break from painting.

Look at our concentration!! LOL

Honestly, I suck at art and I think I did pretty damn good!

This is something that I want to do again soon, maybe a date night. We will see.

Take it Off Monday's - week 8 (1 day Late)

2 months.

I have stayed on a “diet” for 2 months! How is that even possible? LOL Sure I have had my slip ups and my cheats and horrible days but overall my eating habits have changed in a VERY good way. For this I am happy and proud.

Week 8 was still rough for me. I blame life! Life is stressful, life is hard, life is LIFE. But really I do not want to make excuses because that is what I have always done in life. Excuses for why I stuff my mouth full of nasty food or excuses for why I don’t work out. So no more excuses. Life is life and the only way I am going to attain my weight loss goal is to get past life and move on.
So here I am in the midst of week 9, determined to stay on track and lose as much weight as possible before we leave for vacation on May 19th! That is 9 days away. :O)

Rundown of Week 8:
I lost 1 pound – that equals 21 pounds total in 8 weeks!! WOOT!! 21 pounds GONE FOREVER!!! So happy!!

STRESS!! STRESS!! STRESS!! Jeremy is home now from the hospital so that is great but man that 6 days really threw me off! YIKES!

Another challenge I am dealing with right now is feeling sad that I will not reach my 30 pounds by the time we go to Arizona for vacation BUT that is okay. I am also super nervous about going on vacation and not gaining a ton of weight. Oy! When I return from vacation I will have 4 weeks until Jude’s birthday and that will be my next HUGE milestone! Really would like to be down 35 pounds by his birthday! We will see.

THANK YOUs! Thank you to all of my supporters. I know I have been bitching a lot about life and stress recently but with out your support I wouldn’t be at this 21 pound lost!!

Please give some love to my Medifast Buddies!!

Thursday Afternoon...

First of all have you entered this GREAT giveaway yet? You need too! Do it right now! Rockabye Baby is one of our very favorite Baby/Toddler items and we are so happy that they have generously offered another CD to one of our lovely readers.

Alright, now on to the reasons why I haven’t been around lately.

Stress – stress is what I have been feeling for a while. Sometimes I feel like Jeremy, Jude and I will be on the run forever. Never seems like we have a week of normal boring life. I guess in some ways we should be happy about this but really, all I want is some peace and quiet and FUN in life!

My brother ended chemotherapy and got the clean bill of health to move right into Radiation (just for extra protection) we were so happy. Check out our celebration

Well then we moved right back in to crisis mode and craziness –

On Monday (April 25th) Jeremy knew that his Ulcerative Colitis was acting up and this flair was coming on hard and FAST. Unfortunately he couldn’t manage it at home, he was admitted to the hospital on Thursday afternoon in order to get steroids and shock his body back into remission. He was in the hospital for 6 days! Which means Jude and Mommy were on their own. I love Jude so much but damn he is nonstop on the move constantly! So needless to say, I was so happy when Tuesday (May 3rd) Jeremy got to come home with us! YAY! And the best part is that Jeremy is feeling a TON better. Thank God, we were very nervous on Sunday, the doctors were pretty much thinking he was going to have to have surgery to remove his colon but he pulled through.

Ulcerative Colitis is an awful disease and I pray that someday there will be a cure for this so Jeremy can live a normal life. It is so hard to see someone you love so much going through such frustration and pain. Breaks my heart.

So that is the update. Thank you all for who were thinking and praying for Jeremy during this hard time. I know it helped!!

Happy Thursday!!

Oh and guess what – I am working on a 1st birthday theme post!! I know you can’t wait!!

Rockabye Baby Review/Giveaway #2

What do you think of when you hear this song?

"She Don’t Use Jelly" by Flaming Lips

I know a girl who thinks of ghosts
She'll make ya breakfast
She'll make ya toast
She don't use butter
She don't use cheese
She don't use jelly
Or any of these
She uses Vaseline

I bet you totally think of a great lullaby for a sleepy little baby don’t ya?!? Well we do - NOW!

I was so happy to get the opportunity to review the newest Rockabye Baby release this month. Jeremy was too – when I told him who was next on the release list he just laughed and thought for sure that this was going to be one of his favorites! He was right, and honestly it is one of mine now too.

I really wasn’t a HUGE Flaming Lips fan but this cd really has opened my ears to a whole new perception of this band. Rockabye Baby did a fantastic job in making the melodies come out in their usual calmness but also when listening to this cd I find myself singing a long a lot more than usual. Jude thinks it is pretty funny when mommy dances around to it too!

“Hey all look at MY cd’s – I am one happy MUSIC baby!!”

I think most of you know how much we all love Rockabye Baby and I love supporting them so please put these items on your “Must Have” list for your children’s rooms or even for baby shower gifts! We have a goal of owning all of the cd’s and we are so close!!!

Great for baby and great for Mommy and Daddy!
