A Special Saturday Post!

In 1 week we will be having a 30th birthday party for Jeremy! Yup, you read that right, he is turning the big 3-0 so we have to do something fun.

When I first started thinking about a party, I was thinking of just doing a BBQ but I decided to go all out and do a theme. For those of you that know me in real life you know that I LOVE themed parties!

Well here we go, just a sample of what will be happening in our home next Saturday! I will make sure to take pictures.

Y3W - Sitting and Reading

Y3W:  Sitting and Reading

Jude has figured out how to hop up in his Anywhere Chair and sit down and ready or watch his TV program.  He doesn't sit in it for long but when he does get up in the chair he feels very important and big.  He gets this great grin on his face because he knows he is doing something big.

So cute!

Thankful Thursday - Summer Outings

Thankful Thursday - Summer Outings

I am thankful for summer time and family time outside!

Recently we purchased a bike trailer for bike rides – yes it was expensive but with 2 rides under our belts I can already tell you that the money was well spent. Jude is still getting used to the helmet and the idea that he can look around while we are cruising the town and Jeremy is still getting used to the extra weight of Jude and the trailer! Lol :O) Just think of it as extra exercise.

My hope is that we can continue these outings, as long as the weather stays not too hot and no rain, at least 4 times a week. I really want to show Jude by example how it is better to be outside than sitting inside.

Photobucket

Not only do we have the trailer for all of us to go on bike rides but we also have Jude’s little bike too. This was a great birthday present from my parents for Jude. He loves it and it is so fun to push him around on too. Great for afternoon walks to the park.

Cute little boy on his bike. :O)

What are you thankful for today?

A Baby Changes Everything - even reading...

Well hello all! Yes, I know – I am a slacker!! I have missed you all and it is my goal to get back into the blogging world again and I am starting today! I hope everyone is doing well and I look forward to catching up with all of you. You know I love me some comments! Bring it!!

For you long time readers I have a question for you – do you remember when I blogged about my goals for 2011 back in January? Well I did and one of the goals I had was to read 12 books in 2011 and none of them could be baby/pregnancy related! HAHA, it is July almost August and I haven’t read a single book!! I know – gasp!! BUT I am happy to report that I have started a book, and I love it!! I am 71 pages into it – yup that’s right 71 pages, the first 71 pages of a non-pregnancy book I have read in 2 years!! Again, GASP!! Lol

Photobucket

I hope to have this book read in about a week – if everything (Jude) cooperates! ;O) I will do exactly what I told you I would do when I finished each one of my 12 books – a book report. I can tell so far that I LOVE THIS BOOK! More to come.

It is so funny what children change in your life, I used to read 10-15 books a year. Crazy! But I love every second with my little man and once his head hits the bed I start thinking about when I get to hit the pillow too. So this will be hard but I plan on reading before bed every evening!

So tell me – have you accomplished any/all of your goals for the New Year? What major change have you seen after having a baby?

So good to be back!

Don’t for get to Toodle Along!

Y3W: Our Mountain Boy!

Last weekend we took our first trip of the summer up to the cabin in Leadville Colorado. This cabin is so special to Jeremy because his Grandfather built it! So neat. And it is a great place to just get away from the hustle and bustle of life.

Photobucket
Jude and daddy all ready to for a hike.

This isn’t Jude’s first trip to the cabin but it was the first trip that he was actually well aware of his surroundings. It was a little hard to have an on the move little boy up there because the cabin is NOT baby proofed what so ever! HAHA! So we had to keep our eyes on that child every second!

Photobucket
We are so lucky that we have a lake just outside of the cabin. Jude really liked going down to the dock and looking around. It was a beautiful weekend – nice and cool. A good break from the 90 degree weather we were having down in town.

Photobucket
Jude in his mountain gear. Adorable!!

Photobucket
Family picture on the dock. :O) Look how cute Jude is!! He looks so big in this picture!

Photobucket
Jude loved sitting on the porch swing, I think it made him feel like such a big boy.

We will be going up to the cabin another 3 times this summer, and we cannot wait for the next trip. Jeremy also cannot wait until he gets to teach Jude how to fish on the lake. Maybe next summer!

Photobucket
Snuggles with mommy on the dock. We were waiting for the rain to come in for the afternoon.

This is something that Jeremy wants to share with generations to come and friends too so if you are ever in Colorado make sure you call us! We will show you the town of Leadville!!

Thankful Thursday - Family Night at the Soccer Game!

For my Dad's (Jude's Grandpa) Father's Day present we decided to buy all of us tickets to go to the Colorado Rapids MLS game. Soccer is my family's sport and we knew it would mean a lot for my dad to have all of us there for a game, especially Jude.

So we packed up and headed to the stadium. We were in luck too because the game happened to fall on 4th of July weekend so we got to see a BIG firework show after the game. Surprisingly Jude did well - so well that he stayed up for the whole soccer game and then fell asleep half way through the GIANT firework show. Really Jude - you won't sleep in, take great naps or sleep through the night every night BUT you will fall asleep during a professional firework show! Really!?!? Haha, either way we had a great time.

I am so thankful that Jude has my dad to take him to soccer games, tradition will continue.

Here are some great shots of our evening out.

Ice Cream, Animals and a Carousel - Toddle Along Tuesday

Jude loves going to the Denver Zoo so when we saw that there was an Ice Cream social at the zoo for members we decided we had to go and check it out.

We had a ton of fun. Of course the ice cream was yummy and we all enjoyed it, but Jude especially did - he would just keep screaming and pointing at the spoon. Yeah I think we created a monster!! haha! Oh well, for one night we let him eat a ton of sugar! You are welcome Jude!

Photobucket
Jude waiting for Daddy to get him some ice cream. He is looking great for the zoo. Turtle gear on!! :O)

Photobucket
YUM!!! Look at those eyes!

Photobucket

After we had our ice cream we went to the Carousel. Jude hadn't rode this yet so it was a big deal. He was so excited waiting in line. He was laughing, pointing and talking as he saw the Carousel go round and round. Finally we reached the front of the line and Jude was ready!!

Daddy and Jude - Jude was a little nervous.

Hanging on but smiling!!

What a great evening we had. I love family outings and I am so happy that Jude is able to do so much more as he gets older. What is next?!?!

Sweet Stella's: Mama Blogger Monday; Building Our Story

Hi All! Check us out on Sweet Stella's today. We are the featured Mama Blogger today. Thanks Shannon!!

Sweet Stella's: Mama Blogger Monday; Building Our Story: "Happy Monday everyone!! Today, I'd like to introduce you to my beautiful friend Censie, from Building Our Story . Censie and I met while we..."

Take it off Mondays

Time for some honesty.  I am not using Medifast like I should.  In total I have probably been off the plan for 2 weeks straight.  I am sad about this but it is life.  I just placed another order for 1/2 of a month worth of Medifast food and once that is gone (probably around the end of July) I will be done with my Medifast journey.  I am sad to say that we cannot keep forking out 275 dollars at one time for this program for me.  So I will be working hard the next month or so on program and once the food is gone I am moving on to "real" food.  I will continue to update you for Take it Off Monday and let you know what I am eating and doing for my plan.
I have a goal and I want to reach it, you all remember that we are going to Spain in less than 2 months right?!?!  With a beach!!  lol YIKES!  Time to put the DQ blizzards down and hit the bike and eating right!  As always thank you for your support!  And for anyone who wants a jump start I recommend Medifast!  I have lost almost 30 pounds!  That is great still!!
Happy Monday!!

1 year check-up and stats!!

1 year check-up and stats - finally I know!

First here are some of his professional 1 year pictures. They turned out great, I wish the others would have scanned better but these are the only ones that looked okay to post. Oh well. I love the lady that takes his pictures, she is great!

Yesterday we had Jude’s 1 year well baby check. It went great. We got praises from the doctor on how well he is doing and how well we are doing too! Always nice to hear that from a doctor. He passed his gross motor skills test with flying colors and even showed the doctor how friendly he really is by reaching up to him for a hug! Adorable. I love our doctor because he immediately scooped him up and gave him a hug.

We also got the okay to stop using formula and move on to cow’s milk – I thought we would be buying Whole Milk but he actually said that most babies do not need that extra fat so 2% or even 1% is great for Jude. We will be doing 2%.

I also asked about bottles and sippy cups. He wants us to have a goal of no more bottles during the day by the time he is 18 months old. So we will be working on that ASAP! I honestly want to give Jude that bedtime bottle until he is about 2 – I know other people have differing views but it is something that I know has a great connection for me, Jeremy and Jude. It is a special time for us. So our goal is to stop day time feedings with the bottle and introduce the sippy or straw cup at all meals with the 2% milk.

Okay what else – oh the car seat. Because of his age, height and weight we can turn the car seat if we like. He said once his legs are crunched up in the seat back it is time to switch, he is fine in my car but in Jeremy’s smaller car he is getting a little crunched so maybe in a month or so we will turn him in Jeremy’s car.

We also asked about the refusal of table food veggies – we were told not to freak out, yet! Haha! I will start giving him a vitamin and still feed him pureed veggies as long as he lets us give them to him and continue to have him try table food veggies daily!

Well that was the jest of the appointment – oh and he got 5 shots! Poor baby! He cried so hard but then stopped about 5 minutes later. Big boy!!

Here are his stats for 1 year!!

Weight: 24 pounds 15.38 ounces = 77%
Height: 32 ¾ inches = 99%
Head: 18 inches = 81%

So in one year he has grown 12 ¾ inches and gained approximately 17 pounds!! Holy cow!!

Here are some comparison pictures!!

Photobucket

I want to know your 1 year old stats! What size child are we looking at in the future? Lol

Happy 1 year Jude! What a great year it has been!
