Let the birthday party planning begin

Jude's 2nd birthday is less than 5 months away!  *tears*  Which means we have a party to plan.

Now I was always one of those women (before having a kid) that thought it was plan STUPID to throw a big party for young kids and even babies but now that I am a mother you can call me a hypocrite!  The bottom line is that I want to get everyone together and hang out and have a great time.  Jude has a lot of little friends that I love seeing him play with and I like getting together with family and friends that we do not normally see.  So to justify my craziness I tell myself that yes it is for a birthday party for a baby BUT it is also just a BBQ with the people we love!

Every party I throw has to have a theme!  This year is probably the last year that we will get to choose the theme for Jude so we are going with Trains!

In the last couple of months I have started a Pinterest board of all things Train Birthday!
I do not have much but here it is!

Photobucket

I think I will use the colors Yellow, Blue and Red.

Our "tagline" will be:
Choo Choo Jude is Two!

What do you think?  Have any ideas to add?

The countdown is on!!

National Western Stock Show 2012

This year we decided to go with my Aunt to the National Western Stock Show with Jude.

We had a great time just hanging out and looking at the animals and shops. This is a huge event in the month of January in Denver and my Aunt has always gone so she really wanted to spend this time with Jude. I am pretty sure we will be starting a yearly tradition doing this with her.

We had a lot of fun the whole time BUT I really think the part that Jude loved was the Petting Zoo!

  Photobucket
Jude got to visit a show horse. What a lucky boy!

Such a Pro!

If you are ever in Colorado during January I really recommend looking into taking your kiddos to the stock show and maybe even a rodeo!  Next year we might go to a rodeo, we will see if Jude can sit for that long!  ;)

Y3W: Our Arkansas Recap

We FINALLY got to go on our vacation to Little Rock to visit my bestie (and Jude's Godparents)!

Photobucket

Jude got his own seat on the airplane!  He felt so big!  Oh and this squinting thing, yeah it is what he does when I have a camera pointed at him now!  Lovely!  lol

Now time to give you another picture overload post!  We were very busy on our trip but we had a great time visiting and playing.

The first "sight" we visited was The Peabody Hotel in downtown Little Rock.  We were right on time to see the famous ducks!  Jude had a great time with the other kids and watching the ducks swim around!

Thankful Thursday: 29 Years "old"

Last Tuesday, January 17th, marked my 29th birthday - less than one year left in my 20's! Crazy how time goes so fast!

My day was full of fun and I am so thankful to have had a great day with my boys!

 And now...pictures!!!

 Pie time!
Tradition was broken - no donut cake this year, only because Perkin's brought back their Heath Crunch Pie! TO DIE FOR!!! YUM!! (For all of you weight watchers - 1 slice equals 21 points! I had 2 pieces and took the rest to work!)

So blessed - or spoiled! ;O)

You know it is a lifestyle change when you ask for Weight Watcher's recipe and dining out books! Thanks mom!!!

Someone shared that I ADORE Charming Charlies! All of you must check that store out!!

I had such a good helper when it was gift time!

Workin It Wednesday: Back on the Plan

Linking up again with The Family Szem for Workin' It Wednesday make sure you link up any of your health related posts!

Last night I weighed in at my meeting and I was actually pleased with the ZERO pounds that I lost.

Okay, pleased but not thrilled.  I was hoping for at least a little bit off the scale but I am also thankful that my vacation and birthday week wasn't too horrific on my weight loss journey.

I missed my meeting last week because it was my birthday, I know that is an excuse, especially when for my birthday dinner we went to an Italian buffet!  lol  Yeah bad choice!  But soooo good!!

Well that ZERO pounds lost keeps me at 8 pounds down on Weight Watchers.  Next week marks my 2 months on the program - I am making a goal for myself to tracking everything this week and hoping to reach 10 pounds!!  Help me out blog friends!  Keep me motivated and give me tips!!

Today starts another week.  Hoping you all have a happy and healthy week as well!

eShakti "Singing In the Rain" Dress Review

I was thrilled to be contacted by eShakti to review one of their products and here is why!

Photobucket

I mean really - do I need to say anything else?  This dress is amazingly cute and makes me one confident curvy woman!  Thank you eShakti!

eShakti is a great shop online that you can find any outfit for any occasion.  They use a wide range of fabrics, styles and color choices which is why I was so drawn to this shop.  As I was shopping through the website I found myself seeing styles and colors that I would have never thought I could wear  but with their custom sizes it is so possible!

Every style is available in sizes 0-26 but additionally you can have your style completely customized by sending in your measurements!
This is what I did - it was easy!  I chose this great work appropriate dress named "Singing in the Rain".  I customized the dress to be knee length and even have a sweetheart neckline in order to be able to wear this to work with out problems!
My measurements came out perfectly!  This dress fits great! It is so great that eShakti provides their customers with the ability to personalize any item to fit your own body type!

This dress is made with great material too.  The only problem I have had is that it gets full of static!  So I bring the static guard to work with me - I blame the dry Colorado winter weather!  ;)

Loving this dress!

Missing In Action!

I promise to be back soon.

Our family is sick with pneumonia now.  Also we just got back from vacation so our house is a mess of laundry and luggage!
On top of all of this we found out that a family friend's daughter passed away from cancer last week.  So needless to say we have been burried in sadness, sickness and just plain tired!!

Please keep this family in your prayers!

Be back next week!

This off the shoulders sweater is really nice for a work look.  Dressy but not too dressy.

It is also really warm and comfortable for those cold Colorado days!

Photobucket

Accessories!  I love them.  This is one of my new necklaces from Christmas (thanks to the hubby!) and it is so fun!  Big and bold but sweet and simple at the same time!

Accessories are my new thing.  I love going through my jewelry box and finding that perfect necklace, bracelet or even some earrings!

This morning I am linking up with a couple a great Mom Bloggers!
Make sure you visit them both and link up your money/time saving blog posts!

She Works Hard For The Money (SWH4T$) Hostesses:

Recently we jumped back on the Meal Planning bandwagon. It was time to get our eating out in check and work on our waistlines and check books while doing it!
Since joining Weight Watchers I have started exploring more dinner recipes that are appealing to me and to the hubs but that fit into my points as well. Thankfully Weight Watchers has a ton of great recipes and options so it has been be fun so far! I want to share the recipe that we tried on Sunday evening. It was yummy, filling and so easy to make! Even Jude had some!

Baked Turkey and Jack Cheese Chimichangas - 6 points per serving (1 Chimichanga)

 Ingredients:
2 spray(s) cooking spray
1/2 pound(s) uncooked ground turkey breast
16 oz fat-free canned refried beans
 1 3/4 cup(s) fat free salsa
4 1/2 oz canned green chili peppers, mild, drained and diced
 1 tsp chili powder
3 Tbsp uncooked scallion(s), thinly sliced
 1 cup(s) shredded reduced-fat Monterey Jack cheese
8 large burrito-size wheat flour tortilla(s)
1 cup(s) fat free salsa
 1/2 cup(s) fat-free sour cream

 Instructions:
Preheat oven to 350ºF. Coat a large skillet with cooking spray. Coat a 13- X 9- X 2-inch baking dish with cooking spray.
Add turkey to skillet and cook over medium-high heat until lightly browned, about 5 minutes. Drain any excess liquid from pan and then add beans, 1 3/4 cups of salsa, chili peppers, chili powder and scallions. Cook until heated through, about 3 minutes; stir in cheese.

Meanwhile, wrap tortillas in foil; warm in oven for 10 minutes.

Assemble chimichangas by spooning about 1/2 cup of turkey mixture onto each tortilla; fold in sides and roll up.

Photobucket

Place chimichangas, seam-side down, in prepared baking dish. Bake, uncovered, until tortillas are crisp and browned, about 20 minutes. Serve each topped with 2 tablespoons of salsa and 1 tablespoon of sour cream.

Workin' It Wednesday: I lost what?

Linking up again with The Family Szem for Workin' It Wednesday make sure you link up any of your health related posts!

I am proud to say that I reached a goal this week.  Not in pounds but just in my own personal goal setting.  I set a goal that I would track EVERYTHING that I put in my mouth for the whole week and I did!  YAY!  And do you know what that tracking resulted in?

LOSING 3.6 pounds!!!

That puts me at a total of 8 pounds lost in 8 weeks!  So proud of myself for losing weight during Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Years!

That is an achievement too!!

The following week will be difficult and I know that going into it. We are traveling to Little Rock to visit my best friend!  YAY!  Vacation is hard but I am going to still try to track everything!

Hope you are having a happy and healthy week!
