Wordless{ful} Wednesdays: Climbing

On Sunday my hubby did something that sounds like a horrible nightmare to me!

He climbed 56 flights of stairs - for fun!

And he did it! I am so proud of him.

After years on the ugly drug, Prednisone, Jeremy has been diagnosed with Asthma along with other complications. So He decided he was going to do the American Lung Association Fight for Air Stair Climb.

Photobucket

Jeremy with his co-worker and fellow racer.
Their team name/costume theme was "Waldo and Friends Take Denver!" I think Jeremy's costume came out great! lol

  Photobucket

The freaking tall building that Jeremy climbed - yes the whole thing! Yikes!

  Photobucket

View from the top! Jeremy climbed 56 flights of stairs in 16:03 minutes. Amazing!
He said it was harder than the Bolder Boulder 10k he runs! Good to know!!

  Photobucket

His medal! Congratulations Jeremy!! Jude and I are so proud of you!

20 Months Old!

On February 25th Jude turned 20 months old!

 How is that even possible?

  Photobucket

 Milestones:
Jude is such a boy. He has learned how to climb all over the furniture and loves "falling" off of it. He just laughs!
He has so many words now but even more "action words" for things. Loves Chuck Cheese! lol "Chuck Cheese!!"
He loves his "Pa" (my dad)
Has learned what the TV is - oh no!!
Still wearing size 4 diapers. Wearing 2T shirts but 18 - 24 month pants.
Getting really good at throwing fits! So much fun!
Loves pizza, chicken, raspberries, smoothies, and COOKIES!!!

  Photobucket
SO BIG!!

We don't have his weight or height - looking forward to him getting measured at his 2 year appointment.

  Photobucket

Also, Jude has learned to love giving Raspberries to everyone - this one is just for our readers!

I promise that once Jude turns 2 I will stop with the "Months" thing! Promise! ;)

Okay - I guess I AM ready!

Apparently, I am ready to have another baby.
Yeah, I know, weird way to start this lovely Monday morning! This blog is about honesty and our life so time to open up with you all.

Last month we officially began TTC – my officially I mean I started charting and using OPKs. So in my mind I thought we had it timed perfectly, we didn’t though – which is fine but wow it hurt. I recently had been worrying that we would hurt Jude’s feelings for getting pregnant, okay laugh away! LOL But after getting that dreaded “aunt flow” last month I feel in my heart that yes I am ready and prepared to be pregnant again! I know Jude will be a great Big Brother some day and I hope it will be soon. It will be an adjustment for everyone but I know having siblings is so important too!

A good friend of mine just let me know she is expecting baby number two now and that was hard to hear. I am so happy for her but she was lucky, first time trying again! And BOOM! Some couples are so fertile! I am hoping I can join her next month!!

I remember the monthly letdowns before Jude – it was a rough 9 months. I am just praying that it doesn’t take that long for this time around. I have to say I have NOT missed these monthly games! LOL

TTC is supposed to be fun for a marriage and you would never expect it to be so hard. Whenever we get into the TTC mode I think about all of the money we spent on birth control! Was that worth it? Seriously!

Now for some disclosures and clarifications. Yes – we are TTC and I am excited! But NO we will not announce a Positive Pregnancy test at 6 weeks pregnant! Sorry folks.

So as this journey moves along I will update you as much as I can. I promise! ;)

CHUCK CHEESE - YAY!

I can only think of one thing right now that has made me laugh – not that I haven’t laughed more than once this week but this particular thing is just too funny to forget!
Happy Saturday by the way!  :O)
Jude has been introduced to Chuck E. Cheese – or as Jude calls it “Chuck Cheese”!  So funny!
Well now Jude is OBSESSED with Chuck Cheese.  Seriously.  He is only 20 months (today) but goodness he sure knows what he wants and likes!
He even has a Chuck Cheese dance.  He dances in a circle, spinning around and saying Chuck Cheese, Chuck Cheese, Chuck Cheese YAY!!  LOL  It is so funny and cute but now it is getting a little crazy.  I am pretty sure we could wake up every morning and head to Chuck E. Cheese and he would be one happy little boy – EVERYDAY!
He walks into my parents’ house and they ask him what he wants to do today – Chuck Cheese!
He wakes up from his nap and looks at us with those baby blues and says – Chuck Cheese!
He sees his Chuck E. Cheese cup and says - CHUCK CHEESE!
I foresee a Chuck E. Cheese birthday party in his future…

Make sure you link up your Top 5 Saturday Laughs too!

Tattoo Thursday - A Turtle Tribute

For Christmas I bought Jeremy his newest tattoo.
He wanted a Turtle Tattoo in tribute to Jude (Our Turtle). :O)

This is what he created and Logan from Old World Tattoo in Arvada Colorado did for him:

Photobucket

This tattoo is in a shape of a turtle but also has Jude's initials in the shell and the body of the turtle is Jude's first footprint!  Talk about completely custom and personal!

Photobucket

This is exactly what Jeremy wanted and I love it too!  So special.  It encompasses everything.  Jude's name, footprint, and turtles!

Photobucket

Look how little Jude's little foot was!!  Awww...so cute and so little!

So now Jeremy and I both have our Turtle Tattoos!

Remember mine?  No?  Click here to see my Motherhood Knot Tattoo

Book Review: Fit Moms for Life & Giveaway

Our society almost “forgives” mothers for being fat:

“oh she has had 3 kids of course she will be heavier”
“with a home, a job and children when do you eat right and exercise?”
“she is a mom, what do you expect?”

LADIES – let’s stop these expectations and excuses!   Let’s show society we can be better – healthy and fit!

I was so excited to receive my “Fit Moms for Life” book by Dustin Maher.  As most of you know I am on Weight Watchers right now so I am in the game to get healthy and fit for my family – especially Jude.
This book was a perfect read for me.  I am motivated by others.  I love reading about other people’s success stories and tips and this book is full of those.  Oh and don’t forget the before and after pictures too!  Again, a HUGE motivator for me.

Dustin has a goal for all of us mothers – he wants us all to be fit and healthy so we can be the best mother’s at all possible!  As I read this book it clicked – it isn’t just the numbers on the scale or the way that I feel about myself anymore it is about my family.  I am a mother, a wife and a daughter which means I have others to care for as well.  It isn’t just about me!  Thank you Dustin for helping me see that.

I have been able to incorporate this book into my health plan now which is great.  The recipes and easy exercises are fantastic too!
Dustin uses the 5 pillars of fitness, mindset, nutrition, strength training, burst training and environment in his documentation.  This book takes you through the 5 pillars as the 31 mothers highlighted in the book share their stories.  They WON the fight of being a “FAT MOM”!

This book is a great book to jumpstart your lifetime goal of being a fit and healthy mother!  What goals do you have?  My goal – to lose 65 pounds!  I will reach this one day and until then I am focusing on the small goals and continuing on the path of fitness and health.

If you are interested in this book you can purchase it here for $19.95.

BUT I am pleased to let you know that Dustin has offered one of my lucky readers the chance to win their very own copy of Fit Moms for Life for FREE!

All you need to do is fill out the Rafflecopter form below and enter the mandatory entries.

Disclaimer:  Dustin Maher provided me with a FREE copy of Fit Moms for Life for my review.  All thoughts, reviews and opinions are my own and have not been influenced by anyone in anyway.  All opinions are my own.

Well it wasn't a great week for me but I cannot complain.  I did not gain weight but I didn't lose either!  Exactly the same.  Which keeps me at 11.2 pounds lost.

I am not real happy with my success though.  I need to be more focused and on top of the plan.
Last week I said I was going to work out but I didn't, I also said I would track but I didn't!
I am changing that.

Last night I came home from WW and I changed into my workout gear and rode the bike for 20 minutes!  Success!  I hope to do that every night that Jeremy goes to the gym too.

Jeremy and I have a goal that we each want to reach before we go on vacation - 9 pounds lost by March 7th!  I want to do it because I know he will reach it!

In 12 weeks I have lost 11.2 pounds.

What have you lost?
What tips, recipes, workouts, and stories do you have for us this week?

Link up and share!!

Toddle Along Tuesday: A Boy and His Daddy

I have always thought that a child’s relationship with their father is so important and even more so now that I have a son.

I am so lucky to have an amazing husband that loves being a father to his son Jude. And Jude adores his father!

Hearing Jude laugh and play with Jeremy is the most heartwarming sound and it just makes me so happy that Jude and Jeremy have a great relationship. I know it will continue and get stronger and stronger!

I truly had no idea how lucky I was that Jeremy was so involved until I saw some other fathers in real life and also in the internet groups I am apart of. Jeremy gets excited for days off with Jude. Jeremy offers to feed, change, bathe and play with Jude. What a blessing for all of us.

The love started from the very beginning.

  Photobucket

The 2 of them are always laughing and smiling and having fun. Something that I hope lasts forever!

  Photobucket

I know that Jude will learn so much from Jeremy through out the years to come. It is a ton of fun watching Jeremy teach Jude fun things like playing baseball and coloring!

  Photobucket

I do not tell Jeremy enough how much I love him for being the greatest husband to me and the best "Dada" to Jude. Thank you sug! I love you and Jude does too!!

  Photobucket

For any new fathers or fathers-to-be make sure that you take time to bond and have fun with your little one. Boy or girl.
A father that takes time for his kiddo is a father that will teach the child how to love their future children as well!

How to host a Monkey Baby Shower!

This weekend was my brother's girlfriend's baby shower that her sister and I hosted together.

The theme that we went with was Monkeys! The day was great and I have to share some pictures of our hard work!

So let's start with the beginning -

The Invitation!

I decided to contact Inkberry Cards again because of the amazing work they did for Jude's first birthday party invitation.
And oh my gosh - Jenn pulled it off again! She created this completely custom baby shower invite just for me!!

 What do you think?

Photobucket

If you are in need of some great party invites and supplies, Inkberry Cards is your company - Guess what - Jenn has offered one of my readers their very own custom party package! More on that later in March!! GIVEAWAY!! YAY!!

Okay, back to the shower... I decided to stick with the traditional blue and pink since they are having one of each. I also thought that incorporating the dots in the decorations made the event more mod!

The Cake!

  Photobucket
Kayla - the guest of honor! Looking fantastic at 31 weeks pregnant with twins!

  Photobucket

The cake and cake table. If you are in need of a cake in Colorado please contact me! I have the best cake decorator as a good friend! Julie will create something beautiful and Yummy!! Do you like the colors?

  Photobucket

 Yummy!

The Centerpieces!

  Photobucket

Our centerpieces. We used pink and blue pails filled with Banana Runts! ( you know cuz monkeys eat bananas!!) And in each pail we put a chocolate monkey pop from Mandies Candies! Again, a great company that I have worked with a number of times! Look her up! The monkeys turned out perfect! Along side the pail we added some beautiful pink and blue flowers.

  Photobucket

Hello little Monkeys!

Photobucket

Food!

Amber made a great spread of food that everyone loved!

  Photobucket

An Easy Recipe for Moms on the Go!

Apple Chicken Sausage and Veggie Skillet

We do this easy and healthy recipe whenever we want a healthy home-cooked meal after a long day!
This literally takes 15 minutes - prep and all!!

Ingredients:
1 - green pepper
Half of a white onion
1 cup of sliced carrots
1 - zucchini
garlic powder
1 - package of Johnsonville Chicken Sausage (any flavor)
Olive Oil (bottom of pan)

Photobucket

Cut up all veggies and put into a skillet with olive oil.  Let the veggies cook for a couple of minutes.  Then add the cut up sausage.  Let the sausage steam/cook for 9-10 minutes.

And that's all!  :O)

Photobucket

We usually eat a bowl full and then also 1 piece of garlic bread.  This meal is filling and so yummy and pretty healthy too!!
