Carseat Canopy Review and Giveaway

Turning 30 made me think practical!
When my mom asked me what I wanted for my birthday I sent her a link to an online shop called Carseat Canopy.  Yup for my birthday I wanted something for Teagan's carseat!!  Haha!  Funny how things change!

This is the style/pattern that I wanted.  Girly but not TOO girly!!

When I opened my gift I was so excited to get it home.  One of the best things about this canopy is that you simply throw it in the washer and it is easily cleaned.  Perfect for those "accidents".

I wanted this product because of how cold our winter has been so far here in Colorado.  I was constantly putting a blanket around the carseat whenever we were outside.  This wasn't very easy to do while carrying a diaper bag and holding Jude's hand.  Multiple times I ended up dropping the blanket in snow or the dirty street.

The canopy is so easy to use.  Simply Velcro the straps on the handle of your carseat and you are ready to go.  I have gotten so many complements on my canopy and I proudly send them to the Carseat Canopy website!

I have decided that this Canopy will not only be used for the freezing cold winter but also for a sun shade in the summer time.  This is an item I am adding to my "must have" list for new parents!  Oh and another perk...when Teagan falls asleep in the car on the way home she stays asleep once I bring her inside!  She has taken many naps in her seat with the Canopy covering her from the light but mostly from the NOISE we call Jude!!  LOL!

There are so many color and pattern options to choose from.  I know you will find one that suits you and your baby.  These Canopy's can be purchased for $49.95 each.
BUT Carseat Canopy has graciously offered one of my readers the chance at owning their own for free!!
All you have to do is follow the simple instructions on the Rafflecopter form below!
Thank you Carseat Canopy!!
We love your product!!!

Wednesday on the WW: Week 4

Week 4 on the program!

This blog hop is all about Weight Watchers.
Let's help each other on this journey by linking up recipes, successes, tips, photos and WW stories! Rules: Well the rules are easy. Just link! Link your blog posts that are all about Weight Watchers. Easy as pie! There are other ways to follow blogs such as Google+, Networked Blogs, facebook and various other options. I want everyone to link up! Grab the "Wednesday on the WW" button and put it in your blog post! I cannot wait to read all of your stories!!

My Week 4 in Review:

I am back on track!!  After a weekend of fun celebrating my {belated} 30th birthday I was really worried about getting on the scale last night but I stepped on proud of what I did - tracking!!  I tracked almost all week, except for the birthday drinking!!  lol

I lost weight!!

Down 1.8 pounds this week.
That puts me at a total of 4.6 in four weeks on the program.  I am not very happy with those results but I do know that I can do better and I am really going to focus daily on this.

I have a goal - I will be going to Arkansas to celebrate my BFF's 30th birthday party in April.  I have about 7 weeks to get to a goal of losing a total of 15 pounds!  So about 10 more to go!  I can do this!  I will do this!

Food:
For lunch yesterday I tried something new and I was pleasantly surprised.

These little treats come in all kinds of flavors.  So far I have had the Zucchini and Pizza!  Yum!!  This Zucchini Souffle is only 4 Points Plus!  Hello!!    This is one of my new easy lunch items!

ActiveLink:
Well I am using my ActiveLink every day.  I like it - it is easy to use and makes me think about every step I take during the day.  I am, however, very surprised at how little I actually move during a normal work day.  Sad really.  I really am trying to get up more during the day just to get more activity in but most normal days I am only making 1 Activity Point!  ONLY 1!!  How pathetic is that??
I haven't worked out in a really long time and being that it is winter we do not go outside in the evening.  I know more excuses.  I really need to work on this part.

Goal for the Week:
TRACK!!  I always do better when I track!!  I know I can do this!!
All week!  I am tracking - even the worst!!
Saturday will be tricky as we are having a big combined birthday party with extending family.  Oy!!  I will track though!!

Book #2:  One for the Money by Janet Evanovich

My Review:

I was told about this book and the other 18 in the series by some co-workers.  I am surprised at how many of my friends had read these books and I totally missed them.

Stephanie Plum is the main character in this book and the rest of the “Stephanie Plum Series”. A good description of Stephanie is: former lingerie buyer turned bounty hunter!  Stephanie just got laid off from her “klassy” job selling underwear at the local mall.  She has been living the good life after a divorce but now she cannot afford to feed herself, let alone keep that hot car she loves so much.

After a while she heads to her parents’ house…there she is told about her cousin’s Bail Bonds Agency needed a file clerk.  She walks in fully expecting to start filing paperwork…instead she is handed FTA (failure to appear) files.  She sees it as easy money.  Her first FTA is the neighborhood bad boy, Joseph Morelli. Morelli, is wanted for the murder of an unarmed man, is a vice cop on the Trenton Police force. Stephanie was a conquest for Morelli when he took her virginity at age 16, now it is her turn to play with Morelli.

This book had me laughing at the Jersey slang and sexual tension Plum and Morelli continually have.  Who would have thought following a bounty hunter would be so funny?
I especially love that this chic decides that stealing Morelli’s car would be the best way to capture him…love that!!

This book is filled with fun characters that I hope follow along with the other novels.  Janet really paints the whole picture for me.  I can easily sit down for a couple minutes and get sucked into her writing.

My Recommendations:

This novel is full of sex, mystery and violence but also funny as hell!  I would mark this as a mature audience only!!  Not really Chic Lit…more of a light mystery.

My Rating:

I give this book 4.5 out of 5 Cupcakes
I cannot wait for the next one!!

A Party for Dirty 30

This weekend we celebrated my 30th Birthday with our friends.  Jeremy set everything up before his surgery and during his hospital stay - what a guy!!  ;)

We went to Dave and Buster's for food and fun.

And a little Jell-o and girl fights!!
{it was MMA fight night so we got to watch in our private room on the big screen!}

My cute and yummy cake!

We walked in and saw the Jell-o shots and we knew it was going to be a good night!

Cheers!!  To keep up tradition - my BFF Aynsley flew in for my 30th birthday party just like I did for hers in July!

So we aren't 21 but the men of the group decided we could all handle a BJ shot like we were 21 again!  lol  Proud to say I did it!!  ;)

Here is to a fantastic year to come!!

I am diggin being a 30 something girl.

Teagan's 4 Month Post

Teagan Evelyn

4 Months Old - February 20, 2013

We went to the doctor for her 4 month check- up and we found out what we already knew.  We have one happy and healthy baby girl!

At this appointment we discussed starting her on solids, we did the same with Jude at 4 months.  Our doctor this time around said that the recommendations have changed and that they now want you to wait until 6 months to start any solids.  boo!!  I was so bummed!
I still think we are going to start her on rice cereal at dinner time.  She enjoys sitting at the dinner table with us in her high chair and shows interest in eating.  I of course will keep you updated!!

We did the 4 month vaccines, the same round that she had at 2 months.  She did well, but was so angry!!!  She had a rough night the night of the shots but seems to be doing better now.

Tummy time!  We need to do this more!!  She isn't rolling over yet and the doctor seemed surprised.  So that is on our daily to do list.  She loves kicking and playing on her playmat so we just need to flip that lady over more!!  ;)

It is hard to believe that Teagan is already 4 months old.  It really does go too fast.  She is such a happy and smiley girl which makes every day perfect with her.  She has quite the voice - Jeremy has dubbed her as the Terodactyl Baby! She lights up when Jude comes to see her - she loves him.

We are working on the crib transition and so far so good - updates to follow.

The last month has been full of smiles, laughs and lots of cuddles.

Now time for the stats!!

Teagan's 4 Month Stats:
Weight:  13 pounds 5 ounces (31%)
Height:  25 3/4 inches (91%)

Perfection - one tall little lady!!

Wednesday on the WW: Week 3

Week 3 on the program!

This blog hop is all about Weight Watchers.
Let's help each other on this journey by linking up recipes, successes, tips, photos and WW stories! Rules: Well the rules are easy. Just link! I want everyone to link up! Grab the "Wednesday on the WW" button and put it in your blog post! I cannot wait to read all of your stories!!

Well I struggled this week to stay on track.  I didn’t track – that is the problem.  We had a lot of stress and happiness going on this week and food really pulls at me during trying times.

I lost a friend and co-worker on Friday after a long battle of cancer.  This news rocked our agency to the core.  He has a wife and 3 young children, he was in the same hospital as Jeremy and was there when Jeremy was.  This just brings a ton of emotions to me – good and sad emotions.  I know how blessed I am that my husband, best friend and babies daddy is recovering at home and doing well.

With all of this going on I just forget about making healthy choices. On top of this it was my brother’s birthday which means eating out and donut towers!

Okay, enough making excuses.  I am back on track this morning and ready to lose.

For Week 3, I am sad to say that I gained +2.4 pounds.  I knew I was going to gain but before the funeral last night I went in to WW to weigh in.  I feel like that is owning what I did wrong this week.

I hope you link up and share what your WW week was full of.

To Pierce or Not to Pierce...

That is the question!

Obviously Teagan is a girl - sure you can tell in this picture because she is wearing PINK!  If you know me though, this little lady doesn't wear pink all that much!!  ;o)

Before I was a parent I thought a lot about piercing ears of babies but I never knew exactly what my decision would be if I ever had a girl.  I still do not know!

On one hand I think it is adorable to see little earrings and often think that the younger you are the less traumatic it could be.
On the other hand it seems unnecessary and mean to the poor little baby!!

Let me also go back in time and tell you this - my mom didn't let me get my ears pierced until I was 16 and that was after my grandmother took me to the salon with out my mother's permission!!
My mom's rule:  Keep your room clean for 1 year and you can get them pierced - HAHA!!  RIGHT!!!

So what are your thoughts, experiences, judgments on piercing the ears of baby girls?

Teagan's 3 Month Pictures and SewDazzled Giveaway

We all know that Teagan is adorable but these 3 month pictures we had taken at Target last month seriously melt my heart.  Her smile is just plain perfect and we certainly got a TON of smiles.
Our favorite photographer at our local Target did it again, Sarah is amazing and we are so thankful for her work and skills!  Thank you Sarah!!
Teagan's excited look!
Our little lady.
She is a fuzz ball just like Jude was at 3 months.

When I was searching for the perfect outfit for Teagan's pictures I found myself fighting off all of the PINK and lace.  I hopped on Etsy and searched hearts - and I found the most adorable onesie that popped out!  I knew it, I had to have it!  I decided it would go perfect with her black Tutu {about as girly as I am going to get} and some cute tights.

This onesie is cute right??

Christi from SewDazzled really helped me make these pictures even better.  The onesie is well made and just as it was shown in her listing.  The shipping was so fast which made my life so much easier in a crazy January we were having.

SewDazzled is the cutest Etsy shop with chic clothing for both boys and girls.  Christi makes is all:  Baby and Toddler Tie Onesies, Leg Warmers, Family Sets, Birthday and Holiday Outfits and Custom Personalization!  Items are perfect for Holidays, Baby Showers, Birthday Gifts, Baptism, and milestone pictures of course!!

Christi is being so generous in offering one of my readers 25 dollars to go shopping at SewDazzled!  Woohoo!!  I already know what item I want next...what do you want?

The good stuff!  Enter the giveaway by filling out the Rafflecopter form.
Good luck and thank you SewDazzled!!

Wednesday on the WW: Week 2

Wednesday on the WW:  Week 2

My 2nd week is in the books - and I am happy with the results.

Challenges:
Let me first talk about what challenges I had this week.  You will hear me say this a lot but it really is the one issue that I just struggle with - STRESS.  When I am stressed I like to snack, especially on chocolate.  This week was stressful.  Jeremy is still healing and struggling which makes me stressed.
On top of that we had my annual work party on Friday.  That equals food and drinks!  I indulged in the Mexican Buffet and had 2 glasses of wine and to top it off a shot!  lol  INDULGED!!  It was yummy though!

Weight Update:
Even with those challenges I stepped off the scale yesterday pleased...
-2 pounds!
That is a total of -5.6 pounds in 2 weeks!   Guess what that means...I got a Star Sticker for my 5 pounds lost!!  WOOT!  I love those stickers!!

Food for Thought:
One day last week Jeremy and I decided to hit up Applebee's for dinner with Jude and Teagan.  We had a gift card so it was a no brainer but then when I saw the menu I remembered why Applebee's is the best for us WW users!
Creamy Parmesan Chicken
Points Plus = 12
This dish was so yummy and filling.  It usually comes with spinach but I am not a fan of that veggie so I asked for steamed broccoli instead.

ActiveLink:
Today is my last day in my assessment period with my ActiveLink - I am anxious to see my results and goals and to begin the REAL tracking!

I hope you link up and share what your WW week was full of.
