Easy No Knead Rolls and Runza #Recipe

Runzas, rolls or kraut burgers - what do you call them?  We call them Runzas - yummy homemade rolls filled with meat and cheese goodness! If you have never had one of these it is a family friendly dinner must have!  Not to mention; a great freezer meal.  We usually make a huge batch and then freeze some for quick and easy meals!  This is a toddler approved meal in our house too.

To make your Runzas you will need to first need to make a batch of bread dough.  I use a family recipe that is super easy and really yummy.

1.  Add yeast to warm water, stir until completely dissolved - in large mixing bowl.
2.  Add sugar and salt and half of the flour in bowl.
3.  Stir in oil and egg.
4.  Using hands mix well.
5.  Add the rest of the flour.  Mix well.
6.  Cover with towel and Let rise until double {about 45 minutes}
7.  Punch down!  Ready to bake!

Now that your bread dough is ready to use you can begin making your filling for the Runzas.  There are a lot of different fillings you can add.  Some have onions, cabbage, sauerkraut, sausage, hamburger, peppers, and cheese.  We go a little bit simple - basically to appease the kiddos.

3.  Once meat is brown, drain the fat from the pan.  Add the diced onion.  Cook on medium heat until the onion is translucent.  {if using cabbage, add cabbage a couple minutes before the onion}
4.  Add the Garlic Powder and salt and pepper to the meat mixture.
5. Roll out your dough into about 4 inch diameter circles.  Fill the circles with a couple spoonfuls of the meat mixture.  Add a slice of cheese to each circle too.

We usually enjoy our Runzas with a nice cool pasta salad and some katsup to dip the Runzas in.  Enjoy and be creative with your fillings!
