To say the month of October is busy for our family is actually an understatement. Seems like our weekends and even some of our weekdays are full of plans. I don't know why October is so busy but because it is so crazy, I decided to have a girls night with my little lady. You see, not only are we running around celebrating Halloween, friends birthdays, weddings and fall fun but it is Teagan's birthday month. One benefit to her birthday being near Halloween is that we were able to check out all of the great Disney Junior Halloween Costumes to help us celebrate our night. I wanted to make sure I got that imagination running because this girl loves to dress up and have some fun!
To start off our Girls Night we headed to Walmart to check out all of the Disney Junior Halloween Costumes. I wanted Teagan to really have a fun evening of milk and snacks. I told her we could go shopping and she could choose a new costume. By the way, this girly girl is having to teach me all about this whole dressing up thing. Never thought I would have a girl that wanted to dress up and get glitzed out! She was so excited to pick out a new costume. She decided she wanted to be Minnie Mouse so we went with the Minnie Mouse theme for the evening!
Check out some of the fun stuff that we got for the evening! Matching plates, cups, napkins, a cute Minnie Mouse stuffy, bracelets and of course her dress. We were set. The boys were downstairs hanging out while we had our fun upstairs. Honesty, it was perfect! Such a great evening with my little girl who is almost 2!!! So hard to believe that in just ONE week she will be 2!!! It goes so fast, so taking some time out of our CRAZY life to spend sometime with just her was really special.
I will say this, it is really hard to get a good picture of an ALWAYS moving child, oh and don't mind the kitty in the picture, she is trying to get some milk. When we got home from the store we put on her new Minnie Mouse Costume and she was ready for her treats.
I decided to spoil this girl for an early birthday gift and let her get a matching Minnie Mouse too. I think she loves her. I never realized how important these one on one times can be. The best part about this little celebration with Teagan was knowing that she will want to do this again soon. She is so creative and growing every day. Pretty soon we will be playing tea and celebration every day. I can see it already!
We enjoyed our milk and chocolate chip mini muffins and had some deep conversations - and by we I mean, Teagan, Minnie Mouse and Me! Great company! And by deep conversations I mean Teagan telling me how to eat my food.
Disney Junior has some great strong characters that I love to introduce Teagan too. Minnie Mouse, Sofia the First and Doc McStuffins. Teagan adores them all.
I know Teagan felt special after our special shopping trip and celebration because she has been telling people about her party. While it might seem silly, I feel like that two hour adventure helped the two of us connect even more. If anything it reminded me how quickly these moments leave us. Soon she will 16 and these moments might not be there. Time to enjoy some milk and muffins with my little Minnie Mouse and take advantage of those great Halloween Costumes on the racks right now!
How do you celebrate the kiddos in your life when life gets away from you?
