This holiday season I have decided that I want to do something more than just the traditional meat and potatoes for dinner. Sure, traditions are great but adding a new spin on things can also be a hit when you are hosting a party. I for one love the new trend of anything BAR. No, not just alcohol, I am talking about food and desserts!! I did a candy bar for Teagan's birthday last month and it was perfect! For our Friendsgiving celebration I plan on using this trendy idea on our Mashed Potatoes!
I have send it before, I love being in the kitchen but frankly, it has to be easy and quick! Busy lady here! But if you know me you also know that I love to go a bit crazy when it comes to parties and get-togethers. So it is a big battle for me. Time vs. my creative insane. I have found the solution!!

Set-Up Mashed Potato Bar
Once you get everything on the checklist bought now you get to start the easy set up. I personally went the super easy route and bought instant mashed potatoes - I know, some shake their head at that but hey, we eat them all the time and have our favorite brand and they are super yummy! Now, if you want to make your own mashed potatoes, go for it! Make a good amount if this is going to be your main entree. For our Friendsgiving I will be making some Turkey and also a family favorite Cranberry Ice but this Mashed Potato Bar will be our main dish.
Set your toppings out in bowls along with the mashed potatoes. I personally think the Martini Glasses make this idea even better! How fun is it to have a loaded mashed potato martini?? For our dinner I will be using some adorable potato bar table tents to make it clear on the choices of toppings.
You can print these Mashed Potato Bar table tents out here for free. Label them with all of the topping choices when setting up your table.
One of the things I am most excited for is to see the combinations that our friends come up with. My favorite toppings are sour cream, shredded cheese, onions, guacamole and garlic. Yum! So good. But I cannot wait to try something different too - like maybe a little ranch dressing! Delicious and different. Makes me wonder what other traditional items we can turn into a Bar setting.
I am always looking for great items to add to my cooking and most of those are Kraft products. For our Friendsgiving Mashed Potato Bar I picked up Kraft Shreds and Kraft Ranch Dressing because I know they are the most flavorful products and will make the Mashed Potato Bar a hit! When planning your Mashed Potato Bar makes sure you stop at your local Walmart and pick up these products. You will not be disappointed with the toppings and either will your guests!!
I cannot wait for our first Friendsgiving celebration! I know that it will be a dinner full of fun, memories and thanks. Friends make the world go round! Time to celebrate them and when I am celebrating these special holidays I do not want to be stuck in the kitchen all evening but this option with some of my Kraft favorites makes holiday party planning so much easier.
