I firmly believe that there are certain people that are put in our lives to be our forever friends. My best friend Lauren is THAT person. We have known each other for over 10 years and man, we have been through a lot of crazy times, hard times, growing up and laughs, We both seem to value friendship as a partnership - Give Extra, Get Extra. Maybe that is why our friendship has only grown through our troubles and up and downs.
I consider her more than a friend, she is my sister. In fact, we got matching tattoos and the quote that is around our tattoo pretty much describes our friendship.
Friends By Chance, Sisters By Choice. Yup! We happened to go to the same college and we have been connected ever since. Honestly, with out Lauren I am not sure I would be the person I am today. To say that our family has had it easy in the last 3 years is a lie. Bad health found us and it was scary at times. Even though Lauren lived states away, she was always supportive. She was always there to give me the Extra love, support and encouragement that got me through those rough patches. I am lucky enough to now have her and her husband just 40 minutes away from me now. Hooray!! Now that we live in the same state I have decided to host a Friendsgiving! I am already planning fun place cards for the table that can also be great Thanksgiving Gifts using Extra Gum.
Thanksgiving Gifts with Extra Gum
Aren't these the cutest? I am a big gum chewer and now that Extra has so many yummy flavors I started to think about how I could make some cute Thanksgiving thank you gifts out of the gum packages. With some clever notes these simple and thrifty gifts can become a personal thank you with out having to pour your heart out. Lauren is probably sick of my tears so why make a big fuss - I just want her and the rest of my Friends to know how thankful I am for their Extra love and support.
Extra Gum - any flavor
For my Thanksgiving Gifts with Extra Gum I decided to use 2 packs of gum for each gift. I used my two favorite Dessert Delights from Extra; Peach Cobbler and Cinnamon Bun. I also thought these 2 flavors were perfect for Thanksgiving! Yum! I simply tied the 2 packs together using some fall colored ribbon. I made some clever thank you cards for our guests. I know that my little notes will let them know that I am so incredibly thankful for them. Once I had my notes written I tied them on using the ribbon. Project complete!! So easy yet perfect for the Thanksgiving season.
This was such an easy project that I am now trying to think of other important people in our lives to make these for. November is the month of giving thanks and during this month try to thank as many of those people in your life. Life can get busy but I am trying to remember that every person that is important to you deserves your Extra Thanksgiving.
As I have grown older I find myself relying on my close friends that I consider my family, how amazing is it that we can choose this special friend family? I love it. These close and special people do not have any blood reason to be supportive - instead, they are a part of my family by choice!
We have our jokes and our fun but mostly, Lauren and I have each other. To Lauren, my sister of choice, Thank you for being my Extra support when I need it!!!
Who will you be saying Thank You to this Thanksgiving season?
