I love this time of year. So many great traditions and events but my very favorite part of Christmas is shopping for the kiddos. I love making my shopping lists and coming up with great ideas for them and acting like Santa is pure magic for me too! Stocking Stuffers are by far my favorite things to buy, I get that love from my mom. She fills our stockings SO full and usually has over flow on the ground on Christmas morning. So this year, I decided to come up with something fun for Jude and Teagan. Putting a movie night in their stockings. Jude has been begging for some of the Guardians of the Galaxy toys and the new DVD for weeks, so I decided that his movie night would be based on Guardians of the Galaxy!
We have not seen Guardians of the Galaxy so this will be a treat for us too. Family movie night all thanks to Santa!! We are just as excited to see this movie as everyone else is. We heard from so many friends and family that it was a great movie - the excitement is building!! Jude has had his eye on so many of the different toys from the movie for a long time. I had a really hard time choosing which items to get him! I headed to Walmart and found this great display full of great toys!
I made sure to go shopping on December 9th because I knew that was when the DVD would be released. Thankfully my Walmart had plenty! Oh and when you go to pick up your copy you will have to decide if you are going to try to collect all the different covers of this DVD. I went with the cover that had all of the characters on the front.
PS - if you have a Disney Infinity 2.0 fan on your list, make sure you pick up the DVD and a Groot, Drax or Rocket Raccoon figure for Disney Infinity 2.0. If you buy any of those characters you will automatically get a $5 Walmart gift card! This deal ends 12/13/2014 so hurry! This really would make a great package gift for any Guardians of the Galaxy fan!
For Christmas morning I will pack Jude's stocking with some popcorn and candy and then add the Guardians of the Galaxy DVD as well. I bought one of the toys that he was eyeing for a while, the Starship and some of the characters that also fit into the Starship. While the Starship will not fit in the stocking, it will become an overflow Santa gift just like what we grew up with at my mom's! The cute little characters will fit perfectly in the stocking and the stickers as well! Boom! Add some traditional stocking stuffers and then his is done and we are set for a great movie night in with our new Guardians of the Galaxy toys and DVD.
I don't know about you but this Guardians of the Galaxy Santa pack is pretty awesome AND I think we will have one excited little boy when he sees the cool things Santa brought him. Oh and I think Jeremy might be just as excited to start playing with the Starship and watching the DVD. Ha! Boys and their toys!!
I think I am going to make a themed movie night stocking stuffer a tradition in our family. How fun would it be to make a different movie theme for each of our stockings!? As the kids get older we will be able to have more and more family movie nights so this might become something we all look forward too. Plus, as much as I love buying stocking stuffers, it is a hard job, Santa might have made a really great discovery this year with this Guardians of the Galaxy Stocking!!
