Always On The Go - Snacks Made Easy

My best friend has always told me that we are a family who is Always On The Go!  She is right, it is our lifestyle and while it is crazy at times it really is the lifestyle that all of us love. Currently, our weekends keep is very busy with activities for the the kids.  To make sure we are all prepared for those long days full of activities we have to be prepared with snacks and drinks.

Every Saturday we get up and eat breakfast and prepare for Teagan to head to Gymnastics and Jude to head to Basketball.  While I am always a parent that wants her kids in activities I especially want both of them in some sort of sport or activity through the winter.  Here in Colorado sometimes we are blessed with warm winter weather but other times it is cold and snowy which means it is far to easy to cuddle up on the couch for the weekend with out any activity for the kids.  Now, do not get me wrong I appreciate a lazy day too but these kids need to burn energy!!  Its for everyone's benefit!!  HA!!

Teaching my kids a healthy and activity lifestyle is important to both Jeremy and me.  We allow the kids to choose sports and activities they are interested in and then we provide some great wholesome snacks to help them get through the busy weekends.  I love finding new and wholesome snacks that the kids love and that travel well.

A couple of weeks ago, I had Teagan try the Honey Maid Go Bites after Gymnastics and she loved them!!  These snacks are perfect for our situations.  They are easy to prepare the night before our big day and they are Baked with whole grains, contain no high fructose corn syrup or artificial flavors or colors! NICE!!  Mom approved and Teagan approved!

When Jude plays basketball, errr chases a basketball, for an hour by the time it is time to do our weekend chores or run to a play date he needs some refueling.  I have found that once he eats some of these Honey Maid Go Bites Filled Snacks he is ready to GO!!

Honey Maid Go Bites provide kids with 15% of both the recommended daily value of whole grains and protein (that means 9 grams of whole grains and 5 grams of protein) per serving.  That is a great snack if you ask me!!

Recent data revealed that less than 1% of children get the recommended amount of whole grains in their diets while moms are on the hunt for wholesome snacks that help provide nutritious fuel for their kids as they tackle their day.  Wow, that is something to think about when you are packing your On The Go Snacks for the weekend.  Our society seems to be on the go all the time which can make it hard to provide the nutrients your growing kiddos need, with snacks like this I feel like even on our craziest days I am providing the kids with some great snacking choices.

Saturday Jude has to bring snack to his basketball team and he has asked if we can bring some of his favorite Go Bites to his friends.  Yes!!  Such a yummy option for any kind of activity or snack for kids.  The Honey Maid Go Bites come in Vanilla or Chocolate filled flavors.  Jude's favorite, and mine too, is the Chocolate.  Teagan on the other hand loves the Vanilla.

Go Bites face!!!  Cheese!!!  Such a silly girl.  We always pair our Honey Maid Go Bites with some nice cold water.  We have even mixed these Go Bites with popcorn on a movie night at home!  Yum!!

Once we get through Saturday we move on to Sunday activities and that is another busy day!  Church and Swimming Lessons!!  Whew!  Busy Busy and another day we use Go Bites to help the kids get some wholesome snacks with protein and whole grains!

Packing our On The Go Bag is easy now that we know a perfect snack for the kids.  What items do you keep in your bag on busy days?
