How many of you have those annoying people in your life that will not go to the ultrasound appointment to find out what the gender of their baby is?? Yeah, you know who you are! Okay, I realize that it is your choice but goodness, how can you make it 9 months without knowing and planning? Please don't be offended by these statements, obviously this is being said sarcastically...sort of.
Well, if you are one of those people who has to buy a gift for said annoying "team green" parents to be the whole creative baby shower gift just got a little harder. Again, you hear the sarcasm right? In all seriousness, I am not your normal gift giver. When I give gifts, especially for baby showers and weddings, I love thinking outside the box and registry!
Recently, when I had to come up with a gender neutral baby shower gift I thought back to our infant years....enter sad face, it goes so fast. When I was thinking back I focused on the hardest times as a new mom. One of those times was the dreaded teething screams. I wanted to create a perfect baby shower gift basket that included items that would help the new parents attack those teeth head on.
Check out this gift basket! Packed full of teething essentials. I found a few teething toys that are fantastic straight out of the freezer for those babies that are really struggling to break those teeth. Soothing/calming lotion for those nights that are hard for the whole family, we found that if we used the calming lotion the kids settled down quicker at bed time. I know you are eyeing those M&M's, no I promise you those are not for the teething baby! Those M&M's will come in handy during those very stressful days for the parents. Mom and Dad deserve a little treat too.
With all of the screams and pain of teething there is also some excitement. The new teeth!!! As parents we get excited about every new thing our child can do, this is one of them. They are literally growing teeth. To give this gift basket some extra fun for the parents to be, I decided to make a cute Baby Tooth Chart printable for their tracking needs. This chart will help the parents track the date of when each new tooth pops through as well as give you some month ranges to when you can be expecting new teeth.
I think giving items like these help prepare the new parents with items they will really use. Sure, we all love buying the adorable clothes and baby shoes but sometimes being practical is better! I also find that giving items that parents will need months into the new world of parenthood is helpful. Think in the future when getting creative with baby shower gifts.
Watching your child in pain is not fun for any parent, Infants' Advil® is one product that I will always suggest to parents who are finding that teething is difficult on their little ones. Infants' Advil® helped get our kiddos back to feeling like themselves which was always nice to see. My mom always told me that the worst part of being a parent was when your child was sick - the helpless feeling is unbearable at times.
So, are you ready to bring the best gift to the next baby shower, especially those "team green" showers? Get creative and bring your own teething experiences to the table. Sharing #TeethingTruths is important in the world of parenthood, because every baby will experience it - team blue, team pink AND team green.
