Last week I talked all about one of our family favorites here in Colorado - Day Out With Thomas at the Colorado Railroad Museum in Golden. Once again, we had an amazing time. Both of the kids have a special love for Thomas and trains so this event is always on their mind.
We had beautiful - if not HOT - weather for our trip last Sunday. We were able to get to the museum a bit early and do some exploring around the Colorado Railroad Museum which is always a lot of fun. For all of you local readers this is a must visit on any day, not just when Thomas is in town.
The kids always get so excited when they see Thomas going around the tracks. It is a lot of fun to see the magic. Did you know that Thomas' mouth and eyes move? Jude and Teagan had a lot of questions for the volunteers about his face moving. ha!
Got our seats and we are ready to ride!!
LET'S GO THOMAS!!!
After our ride we did some more climbing and exploring. The train exhibits are always fascinating to me and we have a few favorites that I love getting pictures with. This one is so cool!
Another family tradition - picture of the kiddos on the tracks in front of the giant Rio Grande Engine! These machines scream power!
There is still time to plan your trip - Thomas will be in Golden for the next 2 weekends! More info -

There is even a fun petting zoo. The kiddos loved feeding the animals some carrots. Teagan was freaked out when the goats would come eye to eye with her - I don't blame her!
What to expect at the Colorado Railroad Museum:
Thomas the Tank Engine is chugging into the Colorado Railroad Museum for the annual Day Out With Thomas event! All Thomas fans are invited to come spend the day with their favorite No. 1 engine. For 65 years, children have been captivated by the courageous adventures of Thomas and his engine friends.
A Day Out with Thomas is an exciting way for children and grown-ups to enter the world of Thomas & Friends. The event provides an opportunity for kids to ride on board a train led by Thomas & have their pictures taken with Sir Topham Hatt, the controller of Thomas’ railway.
Dress appropriately for the weather; the Museum is primarily an outdoor museum. Most Day Out With Thomas activities however are under cover.
The Museum will host a wide range of food vendors for lunch, snacks and dessert. You may bring your own picnic lunch, however, please note that the Museum has no locker or storage facilities. Both alcohol and cooking are prohibited.
Our Thomas picture turned out so cute. Great smiles and adorable Jude has his arm around Teagan. A great day filled with fun, activities and memories!
