2015 - Year In Review

Hard to believe it is time to sit down and do our Year in Review post.  Honestly, 2015 went so fast!  It was a year full of fun, memories, new experiences, good health, accomplishments and milestones.

The year started with a bang in my blog world when I got an email from Good Morning America about one of my blog posts. I was honored to be featured on GMA for Rainbow Cake in Mason Jars pinterest fail. It was a great way to start the New Year because it helped me see that my blog is so much more than just a journal. It is a career - I am an author - and I am getting noticed. I love this job! Make sure you check out the Pinterest Fails Segment video. You will get to see me talk about my Rainbow Volcanoes in a Jar!!

Every January we take a trip to the National Western Stock Show here in Denver and enjoy the animals and rodeo with the kids.  Teagan fell asleep for some of the rodeo but each of them loved seeing the stock show and the bulls at the pro-rodeo.  It is always fun because my Aunt Becky comes with us.  She enjoys seeing the kids have fun at this huge local event!

Jude tried basketball for the first time and had a lot of fun.  Basketball is not his best sport but we enjoyed watching him play in his first game and try really hard at making a basket.

Blog win again!  I got the chance to be on live TV at a local news station promoting The Big Game and came up with a fun Pizza Party Bar idea.  It was a great experience and I am happy to add it to my resume.

We took a family trip to see the Disney Junior Live: Pirate & Princess show.  This was Teagan's first show like this so she was so excited to dress up like Sofia.  We got amazing seats and the kids loved the show.  We really enjoy taking the kids to events like this.

We added a new member to our family.  Meet Sundae!  On Valentine's Day we decided to take the kids to a local shelter to adopt a new kitten.  She has been so fun and super good with the kids.  Such a patient kitty.

Everyone has heard of the Harlem Globetrotters and they certainly put on a great show for all ages. We had the opportunity to attend a game of theirs in Denver.  It was the first time I had been to the Globetrotters game so I was just as excited as the kids.  Great family evening out!

The weather in Colorado is always changing and never predictable.  In March it was so warm that we were able to head to the Denver Zoo and enjoy the sun and warm spring weather with friends.  The zoo is always a great day trip for our family.

Our visit to the Easter Bunny was a challenge.  Teagan is not a fan of anything in a costume.  The picture is still cute though!

Teagan got to go with us to her first movie in the movie theater.  We took a family trip to the theater for a movie that we were all so excited for!  Home!!  She loved going to the movie theater and we have done a few other trips since.

For Spring Break we got to go to Arizona to visit with Jeremy's parents.  Spring Break fell on Easter weekend so we even got to spend a holiday with them.  It was a lot of fun.  Sun, swimming, family and memories!

I had the opportunity to audition for Listen To Your Mother in Boulder Colorado.  I composed an essay about how becoming a parent has really changed how I look at being adopted.  While I didn't get to be a part of the cast I am happy with the call to audition.  Read my story here - Listen To Your Mother ADOPTED.

May was the month that I was introduced to a work out that I absolutely LOVE!  Reformer Pilates!  It is a hard work out but one that is fun.  Every time I complete a session I leave feeling strong!  I love it!

Teagan wanted sparkles in her ears!  We finally went for it and got her ears pierced.  After the fact, she was upset with us, until she saw that the earrings sparkled in the mirror!

June is always a busy month for us and this year was no different.  We started the month out with attending a local fishing derby.  This was Teagan's first time actually fishing.  While we didn't catch anything it was still fun.  We do this fishing derby at a lake really close to our house every first weekend of June.  So fun!

Once the month starts it is time to focus on our Turtle!

Jude turned 5 and we had a big Spiderman birthday party.  We also got to see how much Jude had grown over the year.  99% on height and weight again!  Hoss!

Jude started Taekwondo in April so he was able to attend his very Taekwondo tournament which meant he got to break is first board!  He was so proud!

In July I shared with you all our trip to Snow Mountain Ranch in Winter Park Colorado.  The four of us took a trip to the YMCA camp and enjoy a busy but fun weekend doing as much as we could  Of course the highlight of our trip was experiencing the Summer Tubing Hill.  So much fun!!  We are already planning on heading back to Snow Mountain Ranch this summer!!

Snow Mountain Ranch literally has something for everyone. The accommodations, food, and activities were perfect for our family. Located near Winter Park Colorado, Rocky Mountain National Park & Grand Lake; Snow Mountain Ranch offers a wholesome environment where friends, families & groups enjoy a tranquil setting, more activities than anywhere else & quality time together.

School started - summer went so fast but Jude was so ready for school to start.  We decided to delay Kindergarten for one year so for the 2015-2016 school year he is in Pre-K.  He is really excelling and I am so pleased with our decision.

We braved the unusually HOT September weather to visit our favorite blue tank engine, Thomas!  We love going to A Day Out With Thomas at our local railroad museum every year and this year was no different expect we were worried about rain or cold.  Instead we were applying sunscreen!

I became a dance mom.  Miss Teagan, our tiny dancer, started dance in September.  She does tap, jazz and ballet!  She loves it and I truly believe I will be a dance mom for years to come!

October is just like June - super busy.  We started the month off with going to Anderson Farms for some pumpkin hunting and fall festival fun.  We have been going to Anderson Farms every year since having Jude.  It is our favorite farm to visit for pumpkins.  This year we had grandma and grandpa in town so they came with us!

That same weekend we had Teagan's Princess Birthday Party to celebrate her 3rd birthday.  It turned out perfectly and just like she had requested.  ALL OF THE PRINCESSES!

Hard to believe that our little lady is 3, she is healthy and growing perfectly.  Full of sass and spunk and we wouldn't change a thing about her.

Once we tucked our kiddos in for bed on her birthday, Jeremy and I headed off to the beach.  Yes!!  An opportunity for us to go to the Beaches Resorts on Turks and Caicos for the Social Media on the Sand Conference came to us back in April.  We jumped on it and decided to make it an adults only trip.  It was paradise.   It was such an honor to be invited to a conference like this!  I hope I get an invite in 2016 too!  Fingers crossed!

Back in April Jude started Taekwondo so in July it was time for him to test for his first new belt.  He did great and was so excited for his new belt.  This program has been a great activity for Jude.

Teagan and I took a mommy daughter adventure to Nutcracker ballet at the Colorado Ballet.  I knew she would love it.  I believe we have started a new tradition to attend the Nutcracker after Thanksgiving now.  We got all dressed up and watched those "rinas" dance on their toes!  I love those moments with my girl!

We had our family pictures taken by my good friend Krista Haffner.  Once again she created magic and got some beautiful photos of us all.

We visited Santa and guess what?  Teagan sat by Santa - well sort of, Jude had to sit in between them but it was our first visit that Teagan didn't cry!  Success!!!

Jude performed the loudest and proudest of all of the kids in his school Christmas program.  He looked so handsome and literally knew every word and action to each of the songs they sung.  Such a ham!

Miss Teagan was able to show us her dancing skills at her Winter Recital.  It took her a while to warm up but once she did she did so great.  I even got her hair into a pretty great ballerina bun!!  It was adorable!

What a year of blessings!  I am incredibly thankful for the year we have had and know that 2016 will be just as blessed.

Thank you for being a part of our family day after day.  Happy New Year!!
