Back-to-School with Visionworks and PAW Patrol

This is a sponsored post written by me on behalf of Visionworks.

This summer we have had a number of appointments and to-dos on our back-to-school lists and one of them included taking both Jude and Teagan to get their first eye exams.  Our pediatrician has done checks while at yearly exams but we have never been to the eye doctor.  So, when we saw the great Back-to-School deals at Visionworks I knew I had to make an appointment for the kids.

Once I saw that Visionworks was showcases a partnership with Viacom and their hit show, PAW Patrol, I knew my kids would not be scared at all!  Which is great because they are both at the age that they are very nervous for any appointment like the dentist or doctor.  This partnership with PAW Patrol and Visionworks will be valid through September 3rd so there is still plenty of time to get in on this fun with your kids!

My experience with Visionworks started out great, and honestly perfect for a busy mom like me.  I simply logged onto the website and selected the location nearest to our home and decided on a day and time that worked well for us.
We walked into our location on the day of our appointment and we were met with happy greetings and very kind people who talked directly to my children.  I have said it before, I love when adults talk to and respect my children, especially in new situations like this.  Both of them were a little unsure of what to expect during this appointment.

Both of the kids loved seeing PAW Patrol all over the Visionworks office. They have loved PAW Patrol lately so this really worked out well!  Teagan found the PAW Patrol line of frames and she was set on the pink ones.  I had to tell her that not everyone needs glasses but this little fashionista told me they would go great with her dresses.  So cute.

As I was filling out paperwork the kids were surprised with a fun PAW Patrol goodie bag that included a PAW Patrol themed activity sheet, a box of crayons, a sticker sheet and a PAW Patrol character mask, this bag was a lifesaver. It kept them both entertained and got them to sit for a bit before their actual appointment. Visionworks understands that parents can also feel the anxiety and stress during these appointments.

At each "stop" throughout the office, the PAW Patrol team was right by our sides. The can-do attitude of the PAW Patrol pups makes them the perfect ambassadors to introduce kids to the eye exams and making the process fun and engaging.  I love that Visionworks is making sure that kids see the importance in eye health and makes it not scary by including the PAW Patrol for back-to-school.

My children, oh my children, they were difficult but the staff at Visionworks were not phased at all.  They worked with them both so well in making sure that they got the complete exam.

The eye exam was easy for Jude, he knows his letters perfectly and it was a fast process.  Although, he did ask a ton of questions about the eyes.  Ha!  Again, the doctor was great with him.  Teagan's exam was a bit difficult since she is not as familiar with letters yet.  Eventually, we did get the whole exam done.  I really loved that the doctor took the time to really focus on each of the kids individually.

I wondered if we took Teagan to the eye doctor too early but it was clear, she needed to be there.  And sure enough, this fashionista would be getting her pink glasses.

I was really surprised when the doctor told me that both Jude and Teagan needed glasses.  I honestly had no idea and really didn't expect to be leaving our appointment with glasses for the kids.  After the appointment we went to the wall of frames and Teagan, of course, picked up the pink PAW Patrol frames she loved.  Jude, being that he is bigger for his age, had to go with a youth frame rather than the PAW Patrol options.

We sat down and they both were fitted for their glasses.  Again, this process was so easy and quick!  We were happy to hear that both of their frames and lens were in stock in our location so we were able to just wait about an hour before our glasses were ready!

Isn't she adorable?   These PAW Patrol frames fit her little face perfectly.  She was thrilled to have these and even told us that she could see better now.  Again, I had no idea that she needed glasses!  I am so thankful we went to the back-to-school eye exam.

Visionworks' exclusive line of PAW Patrol frames designed and distributed by Nouveau Eyewear just for back-to- school ’17. These frames are now available online and at participating Visionworks retail locations nationwide.

Once they fit both Jude and Teagan's glasses we were done.  In less than 2 hours we had complete eye exams and new glasses for both kids!  Visionworks works on mom schedule for sure!

And our handsome boy!  He looks so much older with his glasses.  He will only need his for school right now.  Of course, that could change as he gets older.  Which is why we will be booking our Back-to-School eye exams next year at this time with Visionworks.  This was a great visit but it certainly opened my eyes to the importance of getting your children to the eye doctor!  Visionworks was amazing with our family and I believe it is a great place to take kids of all ages to get their annual eye exam.

  1. Awe, I love this. We have a granddaughter that is a big Paw Patrol fan, and she just about ready for her first eye doctor check up. I hope they have this in our area, it will for sure make the experience better for her.

  2. They did a great job and they look awesome in their new Paw Patrol glasses. My daughter got glasses when she was three years old and may be not needing them in a few years. She is upset to give them up because she is so used to having them.

  3. Your little ones did such a great job at the eye doctor! Even now, I love going to the eye doctor because of getting to choose glasses afterwards. Paw Patrol is a fantastic kids show and it's so adorable to see that they've got a collection of eyewear.

  4. Your kids are so cute, and their glasses are adorable. It's really nice that the eye doctor was so nice and accustomed to kids. The PAW Patrol stuff was probably a huge help, too.

  9. Your daughters pink glasses are seriously SO cute!! I love that they're correlating something kids love - Paw Patrol - with something that can be sort of weird/different for kids. Getting glasses isn't easy, but this makes it so much better!

  11. Awww .. the kids with their new glasses are the cutest! The Paw Patrol theme is cute. Anything that makes kids feel at ease is a win. I passed your post along to our neighbor. With 5 kids under the age of 12 I know she's in the thick of these kids of appointments as they get ready for back to school. x
