Here we are over two months into my full time working from home career.  Honestly, the last two months have gone so quickly and I am loving it, however, one of my biggest challenges with being at home is staying focused!  Sometimes I cannot stop focusing on the housework and errands that need to be done.  So, I decided to find a quiet little space in my working space just for my thinking, creating and planning.

Let me tell you about my home office - it isn't an office.  It is literally our family room.  So, like I said, I get distracted easily.  A lot of my job is thinking, planning and creating and to do this I have to be in the zone and out of the homemaking role.

To make my new thinking corner even more relaxing and great for staying focused I picked up some of The Atmosphere Collection™ Fine Home Fragrance by Glade® from King Soopers.  These are no ordinary candles.  They are beautiful yet simple and come in some amazing scents. N°1 Enraptured™ – Jasmine and Cedarwood and N°2 Bright™ – Sweet Pea and Pear were the two that I decided to bring home with me. N°1 Enraptured™ is perfect because it is nice and calming and N°2 Bright™ might be my favorite because of the pears and sweet pea flowers.

When I got home from the store I started getting everything all set up for my new space.  I cleaned off my grandmother's old sewing machine table and started placing my thinking and creating items on the table.  This is a small table but it is perfect for the work I want to do in this space.  I decided I needed a little more inspiration and decoration for my thinking corner so I created a nice printable that totally matches the mood I am in when I am in need of my thinking corner.

I love this new printable.  It is so cheerful and gives me a lot of motivation to do well while working from home.  My jar candles match my style perfectly.  Simple, clean and pretty!  This space is my new favorite!  My next step is finding a more comfortable chair to help me get cozy while creating!

It is so fun to see this space turn into something I know will be great for me. And now I have found my new favorite line of candles and PlugIns® Scented Oil. This line of products is curated and artisanal scents, crafted and layered with ingredients by world-renown fragrance designer Ann Gottlieb.  When I sit down in my thinking corner I instantly smell the great scents from my jar candles and my creativity begins flowing and my focus stays put!

  2. My home office is the same as yours part of our family room. It is so easy to get distracted and even more difficult to separate chores from work. If I'm working my chores get behind and if I am cleaning my work gets behind. Sometimes I just need to sit and relax and think!!!!! I love having a candle at my desk because it really adds calmness to my work area. I will have to look into those candles as I did not know Glade carried those. Thanks for the tips. and congrats on working from home full time.

  3. I really need to create my own thinking space. Sometimes it's very hard for me to stay focused too! I start the day saying all work this day but, I end up doing chores. As for Glade. I love that brand!

  4. I think we all need a space like this! I think it really helps to focus to have your own little piece of space or 'corner'. The candles sound delightful also!

  5. That is such a cute printable, thanks for sharing. I know what you mean about housework and errands, I am all about getting everything done and that means I sleep very little when there is a lot to do. I have guilt if one thing gets done and not another so I am always trying to do things faster to leave time for others but I know that my business can not be rushed and I need to focus better when I am working.

  6. I've worked from home for nearly 10 years. At first I thought woo hoo, this is going to be great, that is, until I found myself always distracted by laundry, pets, dinner, etc .. So my husband finished off a beautiful of office space for me. A place I couldn't wait to work in, and it really made a world of difference. xx

  7. First of all, what a gorgeous printable - I love the pastel colors. It would totally work well with my work corner as well! Most recently I had to find a new chair because my old one was really hurting my back.

  8. Absolutely love the printable. I love the details - so pretty and well thought trough. I have a hard time organizing myself. I am working on keeping focused on something, but I often have to work extra hard

  9. I cannot stand my house to be messy and having a toddler makes this an almost impossible thing to do. I am constantly thinking about errands I need to run, and how to better plan. I created my own home office where I have organized our days and plans and I now save time and boost productivity.

  10. Having my own personal office space at home is something I am grateful for. It is my sanctuary, a place where I can sit in silence and let the creative juices flow. My family has learned to respect the time I spend in there. If the door to my office is closed, they know I am working and should not be disturbed. Before I do that though, I make sure they have food to eat ready in the fridge or on the kitchen counter. Adding some candles to my office is a great idea!

  11. Congrats on your work from home career opportunity! I am in my 10th year of working from home and my "home office" keeps changing as the years have gone by. I love your workspace and have downloaded the beautiful printable (thanks!) I also keep a Scentsy warmer on with different scents. I think you may have read my own blog post, too, about my NEW space since my husband sold his pool table last weekend. It really has increased my inspiration and creativity! :-)
