Jeremy's First Stitch Fix

A few months ago, I tried Stitch Fix for the first time and have loved it ever since.  Every time I would get my stitch for the month, I would tell Jeremy he really should fill out a style profile and give Stitch Fix for Men a try.  Well...he did it!!  Ready to see what is in his very first Stitch Fix?

Stitch Fix - Men's Fashion

When Jeremy first opened his Stitch Fix we could tell he was going to like the pieces because of the great colors.  Jeremy is tall, which means finding clothing can often be difficult so we were a bit worried about what to expect.  Along with being tall, as most of you know, he has an ostomy bag which can bring a whole other level of difficulty when trying to find great fitting clothes.  And...he actually let me take pictures of him!!!

One day, I will get a better picture of the packaging.  It is part of the fun of it all!!  The crew at Stitch Fix makes those boxes so pretty!!  Samantha, Jeremy's stylist did great on this first fix.  You could tell she looked at his profile and really tried to find some great items for his style and needs.

Item 1 -  Fairlane Refined Twill Straight Fit Chino

These twill chino pants in navy were very nice.  The fit and color looked great on Jeremy.  This would be a great pant option for casual days at work and any other more business casual occasion.  Jeremy is not a big spender, even on time capsule items like this so he had a hard time with the $78 price tag.  I am still trying to convince him to purchase them.  ha!  These were in his natural size - 38x34.

Verdict - Returned

Item 2 - Sperry Striper LL CVO Canvas Sneaker

While at times I would consider Jeremy "preppy" when it comes to shoes he rarely wears anything but his athletic shoes or his work shoes.  When we saw the bag with shoes in his fix we were both really excited to see what was in the bag.  These tan canvas sneakers were really nice and would go with a ton of outfit options however, Jeremy could not see himself wearing these that often.  The fit well and were comfortable, however.  Size 11.  These retailed at $60.00.

Verdict - Returned

Item 3 - Red Ale Riverside Button Mock-neck Sweater

This light weight navy blue sweater was a favorite from the moment we opened the box.  It is a very stylish sweater option with great detail for those cooler days we are so ready for.  The sleeves and body length were perfect - that is unusual for him.  This sweater could be worn for work or just on the weekends as we move into fall.  Paired with slacks or even jeans!  This is a size XXL and retails at $49.50.  Great deal for a sweater!!

Verdict - KEPT!

Item 4 - Hawker Rye Essential Wash Long Sleeve Shirt

The colors of this great long sleeved shirt was perfect.  Jeremy felt that the fit of this shirt was great, he was comfortable in it and the sleeves were even long enough for him to button them up!  He felt like this would be a great work shirt however, it would need to be ironed (we don't iron in this house!) and he would need to find a tie to go with the pattern.  This shirt was $58.00 and was a size XXL.

Verdict - Returned

Item 5 - Rye Saratogo Springs Garment Dyed Oxford Shirt

This was a great casual button down shirt.  While this was a pretty basic look, it was a bit too basic for Jeremy.  He felt that the shirt fit well but was not feeling like he HAD to have this in his closet.  This shirt was a Size XXL and was $48.00.

Verdict - Returned

What did you think of Jeremy's Fix?  Pretty great right? Even though he only kept one item I think this fix was a great learning experience and he is excited to see what is next. The only thing that I would have done differently if I were him was keep those Straight Leg Chino pants!

Here are a few tips I believe that might be helpful when trying Stitch Fix for the first time.

My Tips:
  • Be honest on your profile - list your correct numbers even if it is hard to type those numbers out!
  • Do not look at the price card until you try on your items.
  • Ask for time capsule pieces - items that can be used from season to season.
  • Think outside the box - try something new!
  • Request for special events - need a dress for a wedding next month, ask for one!
  • Update your price ranges as your budget changes.
  • Share your referral link - people will sign up and you will get a credit! Basically that means free clothes for you!! Woohoo!

  1. Jeremy's stylin'! I love this. I had no idea Stitch Fix was for men! I'd have to get a new husband to try the service though...mine thinks white undershirts go with his brown cargo shorts/pants just fine. Like, that's all he wears! So yay! for Jeremy. I'm a little green over Stitch Fix for men!

  2. What a great idea! I really liked all the clothes that the Stitch Fix stylist picked for your husband. I'm sure a lot of men could use the help picking out clothes. Seems like this is something that would really be very helpful.

  7. The lightweight navy blue sweater looks really nice and I like that you can use it many times since it looks like a classic piece to be kept in the wardrobe for a long time. It's a good deal at $49.50. Profiling should be accurate and updated as necessary.

  8. Thank you for sharing the prices on the items. I've signed up for Stitch Fix but haven't ordered anything because I was unsure of the pricing. It's really not too bad. The styles look pretty good, too.

  10. I love stitch fix! I wish my husband would try it. He's a jeans and tshirt kinda guy, but I think he would realize he looks great outside of that box too. I'm going to show him this, maybe it will encourage him to give it a shot just once.
